Karkala, Aug 11: Lions Club here, recently celebrated the installation ceremony of Ln Novel J D’Silva as president of Lions Club along with newly elected office bearers for the Lionistic year 2018 – 2019 at Swagath Hotel here.
Ln Novel was installed as president by Ln Suresh Shetty, MJF (past district governor 2004 – 2005) in the presence of Fr Joswey Fernandes (parish priest – Christ King Church, here) who was also guest of honor.
Ln Ravindra Salian was appointed as secretary and Ln Valerian Lobo as treasurer for the current year.

Dr Sachidananda Prabhu, MD Gajria Hospital, was felicitated for his outstanding contribution and achievements in the medical field.
Service activities like recognizing and honoring distinction students of SSC, HSC and degree were also conducted.
Also, as a noble gesture, Ln Chandrahasa Suvarna and Abhishek Suvarna donated books worth Rs 25,000 to Patthonjikatte Primary School. Ln Prakash Pinto donated cash to disabled Uday Shetty during the ceremony.
Thelma Pinto conducted the programme to perfection.
The outgoing team of 2017 – 2018 consisting of Ln Valerian Mathias (president), Ln Prof Padmanabha Gowda (secretary), Ln Dr Robert D’Mello treasurer along with their team congratulated all the new officer bearers and wished them a fruitful year ahead.
The evening ended with a sumptuous buffet dinner organized by Lions Club Karkala at the venue.
