Beltangady: ICYM Madanthyar observes Green Day

Beltangady, Jul 23: ICYM Madanthyar on July 22 organized Green Day at Sacred Heart Church premises.

Assistant parish priest of Sacred Heart Church and assistant director of ICYM Madanthyar Fr Alwin D’Souza, Fr Jerome D’Souza principal of Sacred Heart PU College Madanthyar, vice president and secretary of parish council, president and secretary of ICYM Madanthyar were present on the dais.

The programme was inaugurated by the release of handbags made of cloth.



'A message on eco-friendly practices and reduced use of plastic bags' was delivered by Fr Jerome D’Souza.

Soon after the stage programme, saplings were planted around the church by youth and parishnors with respect to their wards.

Monsoon food ‘patrade’, ‘valchebaji mutlim’, ‘patholi’ prepared by the youth increased the attraction of the programme.

Cloth handbags were distributed to each family.

About 50 youth were present. Tyson Dcunha, hosted the programme.
