Mangaluru: Candle Santhu murder - two awarded life imprisonment

Mangaluru, Jul 20: The fourth additional session court here which held the lengthy trial of the murder of Santhu alias Candle Santhu, awarded life imprisonment and Rs one lac each fine to two of the accused named in the case.

The two awarded life imprisonment and penalised are Iqbal Kavoor and Farook Karkal. Both the accused were in judicial custody until now.

It may be recalled, Candle Santhu, who in the past, had been identified with Polali Ananthu gang, was murdered on February 18, 2009.

SP B R Ravikanthe Gowda congratulated and announced suitable rewards to the then Bantwal rural police station circle inspector Nanjunde Gowda and staff who handled the case.
