Six persons arrested so far

Mangaluru, Jun 22: In connection with the raid on a hotel and lodge at Pumpwell in the city in which six girls of Bangladesh origin were rescued, six persons have been arrested and a case has been registered against eight persons. In the raid led by deputy commissioner of police, Uma Prashanth, two persons reportedly succeeded in giving the police a slip.

During the raid, several cell phones, Bangladesh currency notes, and Indian currency were confiscated by the police. The arrested men have been identified as Pavan Acharya (24) from Kakkinje, Charmadi in Beltangady taluk, Dinesh (26) from Soraba in Shivamogga district, Veerendra Narayan Kumar (32) from Murdeshwar in Bhatkal taluk, Revanna (27), resident of Bookanakere in Mandya, Ravikumar (28) from Kunigal in Tumakuru district, and Rajesh (25) from Hasanabalu in Sringeri taluk.

Manager of the lodge and owners Chandrashekhar and Shivaram have escaped. In the past, raids had been conducted on this lodge, but as per a system streamlined by the concerned, alarms used to go off in the cell phones of the girls, and the girls promptly escaped into a room by opening a concealed door in the toilet wall which is not visible to naked eye. Therefore, the activities went undetected. During the current raid too the girls had entered this room through a small opening by opening the wall door and locked themselves up inside. But Odanadi, a NGO from Mysuru, which had studied these tricks, found out the hollow spot by tapping the walls with a wooden stick and made the girls to come out, it is gathered. It is learnt that during the operation, a few girls who had holed themselves in the fourth floor, escaped during the period the police were making effort to reach them.

It is very easy to comment and criticize. It is learnt that these women get into these traits to earn their livelihood and help their parents. Therefore it is time that The Government opens counselling centers to counsel these poor women and rehabilitate them. Gradually after making sure that they will not revert to their original traits suitable jobs could be found for them with remote supervision

Prostitution should be legalized and there should be police vigilance at least in major cities like Mangalore and Bangalore to avoid such incidents.

May be that is why u have not taken any action.for moral become immoral and vice versa. Thank you police you have done a great job in arresting such illegal people .

There was a big name of pumpwell heard in every communal disturbance, goondagiri and moral policing. How come these things happening in pumpwell escaped his eyes? Curious to know if he was receiving Haptha from these Pavan Acharya, Dinesh, Veerendra Narayan Kumar, Revanna, Ravikumar, Rajesh and others. These borewells don't work without power. They collect money through illegal activities and rowdyism and employ themselves in immoral activities in the name of protecting the culture.

As if police were not aware of such illegal activities in their jurisdiction. Perhaps this time the hafta has not reached them in time. Such activities mint money for the department all over the Taluk. If the police do their duty honestly such activities can not take place. We had so many sachivas, mayor who were just show off. Who knows perhpas they too were lured with money.

My question & dioubt is How these Odanadi, a NGO from Mysuru, knew there was this business running in Mlore??
WHy was our police not aware fo this??
Why was our so called culture amaianing people of Pump well who protest all times of petty things
SO they didnt know about it ...( i am sure he knew but Hafta was going on).. Next the girls were of Bangladesh so it is not our culture......
Next see the name of the guys mentioned who were running.....If it was any names with anAbdullah, Mohammed & steven,Andrew it would have been a ruckus ....all useless BD VHP would have started barking...

Paul, need not be surprised at the fact that the NGO from Mysuru came to know about the racket. See the location of those arrested :
Pavan Acharya (24) from Kakkinje, Charmadi in Beltangady taluk, Dinesh (26) from Soraba in Shivamogga district, Veerendra Narayan Kumar (32) from Murdeshwar in Bhatkal taluk, Revanna (27), resident of Bookanakere in Mandya, Ravikumar (28) from Kunigal in Tumakuru district, and Rajesh (25) from Hasanabalu in Sringeri taluk.

They are all outsiders, not local youth of Mangaluru. Their families must have sought help of the NGO to bring their son/brother/husband back home from a brothel !

Meaning, our men are saints, up in arms to attack couple belonging to two different communities but are umbrella holders for these youth from outside to do the business. Returns ? Must know the rate of Haftaaa... !

Imagine the results if some men from that particular area had come to purchase a cow from Mangaluru ????

The names of those arrested men is sufficient to uphold our culture.

Somebody was saying yesterday that our girls earn as prostitute to feed their family. Look at the nationality of the girls involved here - which of YOUR family is prospered by them ?? Have they come willingly and legally ?

Where is the man who boasted to be sealing the borders to stop people infiltrating ??

"The state was ruled and is ruled by Vinci Congress"
And, he is supposed to scan the borders and ensure who enters the place his government is ruling ??

I have further question - what happened to RSS leaders' declaration who said has their fighters are ready to fight on the borders ?

For sure, the cops and the state or district leadership have been hand in glove with the owners of the brothel . Or else you think that anyone would daringly open such illegal activities right in the heart of the city?

Jennifer, this is the oldest profession in this world; demand far exceeds supply for whatever reasons, so, nobody can stop it; if not in public, still it takes place in many private variants!!

No use of blaming any particular religion or political party!!!
