Kaup: 11-year-old girl dies in Manipura village under mysterious circumstances

Kaup, May 10: A 11-year-old girl died all of a sudden at Manipura village of Udupi taluk on Thursday, May 9.

Dhanvi, daughter of Sandesh is the deceased girl. She was at home as it is summer holidays for school. She had completed her fourth grade. On May 8, Dhanvi went to bed after having dinner. On May 9 in the morning, she began vomiting as soon as she got up from bed. Though family members gave her water, she continued vomitting once every hour.

Dhanvi was taken to Dr Raghavendra Acharya's clinic at around 9 am in Manipura, who administered her an injection and ORS powder to be given once every hour. The doctor also advised to give Dhanvi gruel.

Soon, Dhanvi recovered and was playing as usual. However, at 2 pm her legs and hands began shaking akin to an epileptic patient She was immediately rushed to T M A Pai hospital in Udupi in her father Sandesh's auto. However, the doctors at the hospital declared Dhanvi dead at 3 pm.

A case has been filed in this connection with Kaup police station.
