Mangaluru: Students' council inaugurated at St Aloysius College

Mangaluru, Jun 20: Registrar of Mangalore University Prof B S Nagendra Prakash inaugurated the students’ council for 2018-19' here at LCRI auditorium St Aloysious College on Tuesday, June 19.

Addressing the gathering Prof B S Nagendra Prakash said, "I am privileged to be in this iconic institution which has 138 years of history. I salute the teachers and mentors for their constant support which has made the institution to reach greater heights. I urge students to make this campus greener and make Mangaluru greener.



“Mangaluru is known as an education hub and SAC occupies prime space in results in education field. Students’ council should lead by example and work with dedication and commitment to making this campus plastic free and much greener,” he said.

Principal of St Aloysius College Fr Dr Praveen Martis said, "You should be proud to be the leaders and represent our college. Leadership is a special quality and responsibility through which you have to lead the council. President of the students’ council has lined up several initiatives for the next one year. We have high responsibility in taking the vision and mission of the college forward. A leader should be aware about his strengths and weaknesses. He should be confident in leading the team forward with lot of innovative and creative ideas. There should be heroic leadership to build enthusiasm.”

In his presidential remark rector St Aloysius Institutions Fr Dionysius Vaz said, “It is a great pleasure to hear about wonderful things planned for the next one year with great innovation, collaboration and commitment. Leadership quality comes within. Life and leadership are choices; choices are based upon your values. Hence leadership emerges from within. I wish the very best to the students’ council.”

Principal of St Aloysious College Fr Praveen Martis administered the oath to the elected president Relston Stuart Lobo who further administered oath to the students’ council leaders.

During the programme, Moosa Fazil, a student of II BBA, who is also a graphic design expert and the youngest CEO and entrepreneur of India, was honoured for his creditable achievements and securing several awards including Google Certification and Facebook Certification. Fazil has been certified by Google after successfully completing the Online Marketing Fundamentals Qualification. He has completed 106 lessons and 26 Badges of Google Digital Unlocked. The course consists of 23 modules covering wide range of subjects from marketing fundamentals such as search, email, social media, display, video, e-commerce, geo-targeting and analytics.

Mangalore university registrar Prof B S Nagendra Prakash contributed Rs 1,001 for 'One Coin Revolution' project.

Director of students’ council Dr Rathan T Mohunta welcomed the gathering, President of students’ council Relston Stuart Lobo rendered the vote of thanks.

Registrar A M Narahari, assistant director of students’ council Dr Santhosh Goveas, students’ council secretary Roopal D’Souza, joint secretary Lloyd, speaker Roshan, deputy speaker Abdulla and others were present.
