Kasargod: Excise officer killed in collision between two buses

Kasargod, Jun 19: In a tragic accident, a Kasargod based excise officer was killed when the metal rod behind the seat of the bus in which he was travelling pierced into his head during a collision between a private bus and a school bus at Panakkad, Malappuram on Monday, June 18.

Parindal Manna, Malappuram resident P Mohammed Sharif (27), is the deceased. He was on his way home to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and was in the bus from Malappuram to Parappanangadi railway station to go to Kasargod. The bus he was travelling was hit in the rear by a private college bus. The rod behind his seat pierced the Mohammed Sharif’s head who was sitting in the last row. He succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the hospital.



The body is kept at Malappuram government hospital morgue. Officials from Kasargod excise department visited Malappuram after getting the information about the tragic incident.
