Netizens criticize Mamata Banerjee for her ‘displeasure’ in Bengaluru

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 25: State director general of police (DGP), Neelamani Raju, provided explanation to chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, on Thursday May 24 about the circumstances under which West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, had expressed her displeasure at the arrangements which she thought had compromised with her security.

It is gathered that the DGP has already served notices on additional police commissioner (traffic) of the city, R Hitendra, and deputy commissioner of police, Anupam Agarwal, seeking explanations from them about the said incident.

Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Neelamani said she had provided oral information about the developments to the chief minister on Thursday morning. "Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mamata Banerjee arrived at the venue of the swearing-in ceremony simultaneously. At that time the police stopped the escort vehicle of Mamata and asked the vehicles of Congress leaders to move ahead. At that time, heavy rainfall was also experienced as a result of which there was traffic chaos. As such, Mamata's vehicle could not move ahead, we learnt. Therefore, this cannot be termed as security lapse. Still, I have asked the city police commissioner to provide a detailed report in writing about the incident," she explained.

Chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, stated that the security lapse relating to Mamata Banerjee at the swearing-in ceremony has been treated with seriousness. He added that he has got details about the incident from the DGP and that the officials have been warned against allowing such incidents to recur.

In the meanwhile, people have been expressing themselves in various ways through social websites about the incident. Many have expressed the view that Neelamani Raju, who is at the helm of the state police force, stands out as an efficient woman police officer about whom one should feel proud of. Mamata Banerjee has been widely criticized for throwing tantrums on the stage and expressing anger at the DGP, and many have disapproved her, accusing her of showing a sense of arrogance.

The first point is who has precedence - A chief minister or Party President when there is a bottleneck. Ms Bannerjee probably feels her convoy should have been allowed first as a CM. Both Gandhi's are technically only MP's.
Second she should nit have got out of her vehicle. If she did on her own accord, then the risk is on her. not Bengaluru Police.

People had great respect for this lady before she became CM of WB. Now though the power has gone to her head. She has become arrogant. Her knowledge is very limited she is fit to become a union leader and it is the fault of people who have elected her. She should be thrown out of power.

Mamatha may be arrogant but she is right in this scenario. This is a question of security and preparedness of our state. if there was any untoward incident then our state would have been criticized by the whole country.
