Kuwait: Tulu Koota’s 'Rasamanjari' enthralls audience

Kuwait, Apr 28: Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK), for the 18th year in succession, led by president Wilson D’Souza, organized ‘Rasamanjari 2018’ at American International School, Kamel Al Rayes Auditorium, Maidan Hawally on Friday, April 27.

The melodious event featured performances by prominent artistes from Mangaluru super hit couple Prakash Mahadevan and Roopa Prakash, melodious singer Divya Ramachandra, the young and charming Shelton Pinto, Soujanya Hegde, renowned musicians from the Kannada music industry Rajesh and Rajendra along with local musicians.



Tulu Koota successfully attracts larger and larger audiences year after year through their top-quality programs every year. The gathered music-lovers enjoyed the every moment of the programme. After the national anthem of Kuwait and India, the programme started with formal welcome by Ashvitha Poojary followed by welcome dance by Harshitha TP and TKK children.

The traditional lamp was lit by president Wilson D’Souza, chief guests Vally D'Sa and John Simon along with the managing committee followed by welcome speech of president Wilson D’Souza. Soujanya Hegde - Mrs popular at Mrs India Worldwide 2017 entered the stage and introduced the musicians and artistes. The evening was filled with superb soul stirring music, songs, style and performances by visiting artistes.

Prakash Mahadevan, Roopa Prakash, Divya Ramachandra and Shelton Pinto rocked the stage with the choicest selection of energetic Kannada, Tulu, Hindi, Konkani and Beary music and dance tunes. The music mood started with multilingual solo and duet songs Neene Rama Neene Shama (Prayer Song- Mukunda Murari), Mokeda Singari (Pagetha Puge), Aise Deewange (Deewana), Taaseda Pettu (Barsa), Ondu Malebillu (Chakravarthi), Main Tera Boyfriend (Raabta), Kalza Thar (Album song), Mere Rashke Khamar (Baadshaho), Pakkilu Mooji (Pagetha Puge), and Shilegalu Sangeethava (Anagha Sreenivas).

After the first half session, Yashwant Chatpalliwar, second secretary of Indian embassy Kuwait, John Simon of Al Mulla Exchange, and Gopal and Rashid Khan of TVS Hyder Group were welcomed to stage and honored with flower bouquets. Yashwant Chatpalliwar spoke few words appreciating the TKK social work and events. Visiting artistes, local artists, choreographers and sponsors were honored with flower bouquets and mementos. The evening of music continued with mind blowing songs Daridina Kodapana (Pilibail Yamunakka), Surmai Aakiyome (Sadma), Duma Dum Mast Kalander (Album song), Bombe Helltaite (Rajakumara), Jiya Jiya Re (Jabhai Tak Hai Jaan), Chanda Chanda (Anjaniputra), Hawa Hawa (Mubarakan), Saradani (Rang), Yeh Chedva (Album song) and Arippo Thiroppo (Album song). Songs from Sadma, Chandni, Mr India, Himathwaala, and English Vinglish were sung in memory of Sridevi.

In between the songs, rib tickling jokes were performed by Abdul Razak, Lional Mascarenhas, Lucy lobo Aranha, Linette D'Souza, Purandara Manchi and Rajesh Cardoza. The audience thoroughly enjoyed foot tapping dances by KCWA talent dance winner children, Harshitha, Ghoomar choreographed by Harshitha T P, Shobha Harish Bhandary and Linette Carol D'Souza.

General secretary Jagadeeshwar Shanubogue delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was well compered by visiting artiste Soujanya Hegde, Ashvitha Poojary and Melwyn Mascarenhas. Music was provided by Rajesh (keyboard), Rajendra (Rhythm programme/Drums), Iqbal Koyilandi (tabla), Manoj Thalassery (base guitar) and Johnson Varkey (lead guitar). The programme was coordinated by Ronald D'Souza, sound/lighting by Waves Event Management’s Anand. Souvenir was designed by popular artiste and designer Manoj Kumar. The well arranged programme came to an end with Baila session. Spot prizes and quick games were conducted to keep the audience lively. Wilson D’Souza has become one of the popular president of TKK due to his leadership qualities, coordination and teamwork which has led TKK to become more popular with record number of members attending its different events.

    Yes, tulu is a sweet language.. It brings a sense of brotherhood especially when we are outside of dakshina Kannada..
