Kuwait: TKK holds family get-together at Mishref Garden

Kuwait, Mar 23: Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK) held its family get-together on March 16, at Mishref Garden. The get-together started with a huge crowd assembled in anticipation of a fun filled day.

The event began with the welcome note by the hosts Shalini Vijay and Tharendra Shettigar. The inauguration of the get-together was a unique episode as it witnessed the gathering of 20 South Canara Association representatives. The representatives first hoisted their respective flag and were positioned in a circle, followed by Tulu Koota Kuwait Management Committee members hoisting TKK Flag in the center and thus were surrounded by 20 association flags. The inauguration included the tradition way of breaking coconut by president Wilson D’Souza and sport secretary Faustine Pinto and concluded with a short president’s speech. The president in his speech also requested the audience to play the games in a fair manner.



The associations present in their alphabetical index, Agnesian Alumnae Kuwait, Bellevision Kuwait, Belman Welfare Association Kuwait, Billava Sangha Kuwait, Buntara Sangha Kuwait, GSB Sabha Kuwait, Kanajar Welfare Association Kuwait, Kundapur Varado Welfare Association Kuwait, Kuwait Brahvara Welfare Association, Kuwait Canara Welfare Association, Karnataka Cultural Foundation, Kuwait Kannada Koota, Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association, Kuwait Pangala Association, Mogaveers Association Kuwait, Pamoor Welfare Association Kuwait, Rama Kshatriya Seva Sangha, Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait, St Aloysius College Alumnae Association and United Mangaloreans Kuwait. The distinctive concept of bringing together all the associations was designed by the vice-president Suresh Salian.

Tulu Koota Kuwait would like to thank the president and members of all associations for their punctual and active participation.

The kids of 0-2 year age group played the Lucky Winner game, 2-4 year kids played Lemon on the Spoon and collecting the Colour Balls game. The children of age 4-6 years played Hand Golf and competed in Sack Race. The children aged 6-10 years competed in Tonka and Football. Kids from 10-16 years played Bowling and 100 meters Race. Ladies enjoyed themselves competing in Brick Balance, the Men walked on the Slippery Pipe, while both Men and Ladies played Breaking the Pot and Shot Put.

There were team games of Kabbadi, Throwball and Voleyball, and were played with full enthusiasm and sporting spirit. Team Kudla Challengers bagged the winner’s trophy and Team Baidashree Kuwait were runner-up in Kabbadi. In Volleyball SWAK attained the winner’s trophy and Udyavara Friends were runner-up. In Throwball SWAK ladies won
the first place and Desert Daisies were runner-up.

It was a wonderful gathering of members and an opportunity to catch-up each other who had not seen each to other in a while.

The evening witnessed a downpour coupled with dust, which neither failed to diminish the zeal of the players nor the volunteers. Everyone on the ground continued their games and responsibilities with equal keenness until all games came to an end. TKK family get-together commenced with a unique concept and concluded with unpredictable rain showers.
