Moodbidri, Mar 22: The two men who went missing during a trek in Karinje hills here have been found dead.

Praveen Tauro (32) and Greshion Rodrigues (32) had visited Karinje hill on March 20 and were untraced. Their families had filed a missing complaint after two days.

After an intense search operation by the local police and the forest officials, the bodies of the two men were found among dense shrubbery in Karinje.

It is suspected that they might have got electrocuted by high-tension wires, as their bodies seemed to have sustained burn injuries.

    Very unfortunate. Very young individuals.

Looks like they went for (legally banned) hunting of boars and got electrocuted in powerfencing.

Whatever the cause, RIP and condolences to grief struck near and dear ones.

I agree. Forest and anything within it, is a national treasure. Hunting is a theft, just like illegal mining. If they went inside a forest (Karinje forests are reserved forests), they have put their family's future in danger because they could be arrested for the offense.

In interior or jungle areas electrical traps laid for wild animals ( wild boar) . If somebody unknowingly touch or stepped on that tarp there is a chance of serious injury and even it can kill instantly.

Trekking may look very adventurous, but without experience or guides is very dangerous. People can easily get lost, fall down and get hurt, get bitten by snakes, get looted by thieves and become helpless. Search and rescue is also very difficult and time consuming.
