Kasargod: Gandhi statue damaged at Taliparamba

Kasargod, Mar 8: The Mahatma Gandhi status at Taliparamba, Kannur, was defaced on Thursday March 8 morning. The statue stands near Taliparamba taluk office.

The spectacle and garland on the statue were found to have been removed and thrown away. An attempt was also made to destroy the statue by repeatedly hitting it with some hard object. Eyewitnesses said that the incident happened at around 8.30 am.

Statues are being destroyed or damaged now at various places including Tripura and Tamil Nadu. People have been protesting against the attempt to demolish this statue. The police have taken precautionary measures immediately after the incident came to light, towards monitoring and maintaining law and order situation.

    I still don't understand why Gandi allowed division of India.

    Its wrong to blame any political party for this. Some culprits to create some heat do this kind of acts.
