Bantwal: SDPI worker allegedly attacked by Congress activists

Bantwal, Feb 19: A man was attacked by a gang at Sujeer within the limits of Pudu gram panchayat on Sunday February 18. A complaint relating to this incident was filed at the rural police station here.

The person who was at the receiving end of the attack was Siddique, residing at Farangipet. Before this incident, Congress and SDPI workers were involved in a heated verbal friction at Sujeer. The police, who intervened, dispersed the crowd by wielding their canes, it is said.

A person named Siddique said in his complaint that Congress activists, Jaffer, Sharif and Asif attacked him some time later.

Personnel of rural police station here have registered a case and begun investigation.
