Udupi, Jan 28: More than eleven Carmelite priests, who have arrived all the way from places like Kochi, Delhi and other places met Sri Vidyadheeshateertha Swamiji of Paryaya Palimar Math on Saturday, January 27.

The team led by Fr Prof Gregory D’Souza took part in a meeting held at Rushivana in Bengaluru and later visited Sri Krishna Math here. All the Carmelite priests in this team are professors in various educational institutions and are doing research on ‘Indian philosophy, religion in current position and other subjects'.

The team discussed topics like existence of God, Vedantha, Indian culture, using religion at present situation and other subjects during the interaction with the Swamiji.

Speaking to daijiworld, Fr Prof Gregory D'Souza said, "As we are teachers, professors and PhD holders on various subjects, we do further research in an interdisciplinary approach and bring out literature, books and scientific articles. Our theme was 'The impact of the teaching on human beings as a person'. Human as a person is a biological being with body and senses. Human, as a psychological being, has external and internal senses and intellect. Human, as a social person, is in relation to each other.

"He is a mystical being and all we have to transit. There is a popular religious ofcity which is distinct from true religion. Therefore, we want to find out and see true religion, which contributes to the progress and development of human society. Through this literary research, all PhD Carmelites want to contribute to the upliftment of society."

During the interaction, the Swamiji opined, "Every human has belief in God. Definitely, God exists. Without him, nothing will be there in the world. God lives in every human being. We can experience God in human beings. We can find God by surrendering our souls fully to him. There is a doubt whether human being has control over his five organs. But how can a man breath without control of anything, even in an unconscious state? This is made possible only by the existence of God."

Fr Wilson Srampickal, PhD holder in theology, Fr Sebastian Mahimairaj, PhD in management, Fr Verghese Cheriyakadavil, PhD in theology, Fr Boby Xavier, PhD in psychology, Fr Thomas Marottikap Arambil, PhD in Biblical Theology, Fr Bosco Correya, PhD in philosophy, Fr Antony Ponvelil, PhD in theology, Fr Benjamin Elias, PhD in spirituality and Fr Augustine Muloor, PhD in sacred Scriptures participated in the philosophical discussion with Sri Vidyadheeshateertha Swamiji.

Palimar Swamiji spent half an hour in healthy, logical discussion and felicitated the Carmelite priests thereafter. The Carmelite priests also offered shawl and fruits to Swamiji as a token of respect.
