Puttur: Hit by bike, Beverages Corporation employee gets killed

Puttur, Jan 19: In an accident which occurred opposite Campco chocolate factory at Koornadka in Kemminje village in the outskirts of the city on Wednesday January 17, a scooter rider was killed.

The victim has been identified as Manjunath Kharvi (58), residing in a rented house at Sanjay Nagar in Kemminje in the city. He was a native of Bhatkal and employed with Karnataka State Beverages Corporation.

A motor bike driven by Vineeth, which approached the scooter Kharvi was riding from behind and hit the scooter with force. Kharvi, who fell down, suffered serious injuries. He was admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru for treatment. Without responding to treatment, he breathed his last on Thursday.
