Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Jan 6: Chief minister Siddaramaiah will be inaugurating the long-awaited musical fountain, laser show and newly restored toy train at Kadri Park here on Sunday January 7, informed Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) chairman Suresh Ballal.

Addressing a press meet here on Saturday January 6, Suresh Ballal said, "State finance commission had sanctioned Rs 4.97 crore which has been spent on the development of the old deer park and musical fountain at Kadri deer park spread across 4.01 acres. The musical fountain and laser show will attract visitors. The fountain will highlight the backdrop of Yakshagana and the culture of the district in general.

"District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, minister for uban development Roshan Baig, and minister for food and civil supplies U T Khader will grace the occasion. MLAs Abhaychandra Jain, Mohiuddin Bava and J R Lobo, and chief whip of Legislative Council MLC Ivan D'Souza will also attend," he said.

MLA J R Lobo said, "Along with the musical fountain and the laser show, chief minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the toy train worth 1.35 crore at Kadri Park. After a long gap of five years, the toy train will resume functioning now. Rs 4.97 crore has been spent on the musical fountain and Rs 2 crore on laser show and amphitheatre. We are in need of an additional Rs 7-8 crore for further development of Kadri Park. The park has changed a lot compared to what it was three to four years back, with entrance arch installed and well-maintained greenery. We are also developing the walking track, setting up outdoor gym and also a small park for differently-abled children."

MUDA commissioner Srikanth Rao, Vasanth Bernard and Shobha were present.

Unlike BJP, Congres under the leadership of CM Siddaramaiah is doing a very good job pertaing to developmental works. Whatever works are taken should be completed within the specific time and not draggiing for months together.

Inaugurating and commissioning a project is something great...
But keep it going is most important...
My memory is still fresh about the collapse of New Market Yard in Adi Udupi, Udupi around 1990s soon after a politician inaugurated it...
Mindsets are still the same though technology and administration have improved significantly...

Really great news. New train will be of great joy to kids. The toy train was completely neglected during the previous tenure of other governments. Current MLA from initial days has put in efforts for development of kadri park.
Laser show amd fountain has also been through hard efforts and planning of Lobo.

Thank you and kudos Mr. LOBO

Kindly weld the rusted children's play area metal structures before the inauguration. Kids might get hurt and also ensure medical facilities and tetanus injections.

WE REQUIRE MANY MORE PARKS AND OPEN SPACES WITH TREES .SINCE CITY IS EXPANDING TOWARDS SURATHKAL, BC ROAD, KULSHEKAR, THOKOTTU .

ZONES OR SECTORS NEED TO BE CREATED AND EACH SECTOR SHOULD GET PARKS,SWIMMING POOLS , FIRE STATIONS ,SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS,GARBAGE COLLECTIONS AND SEGREGATION CENTRES .

ALSO THE OLD JURISDICTIONS OF POLICE STATIONS MUST BE REASSIGNED AND POLICE STATIONS MUST BE ADDED IF REQUIRED . CYBER CRIME POLICE STATION AND CRIME POLICE STATION MUST BE UPGRADED.
WAITING FOR SUCH ABLE LEADERSHIP IN THE POLITICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE ARENA .

A musical fountain and a toy train is being inaugurated by the CM ? must be some joke being played on the people of mangalore .. While we appreciate the effort and time taken by the concerned ..but this is the least of priorities of the people of mangalore ..Below is the list of priorities of the citizens of mangalore.(not limited to the below)
1.Nanthur main road to be struggle free for commuters
2.The Stalled sewage project of Suratkal Area needs to be revived and completed.
3.Well paved roads with foot paths and tree lines streets
4.Permanent resolution of public transport private bus mafia with transport vehicles that follow safety standards.
5.Clean and green mangalore with professional waste management infrastructure in place.
6.Permanent solution for the water and power problems.Stop the netravati water diversion projects.
7.declaring Tulu as an official language of karnataka and including it in the 8th schedule of the Indian constitution.
8.Sustainable industrial development with employment to locals.
9.society free of bigots ..neither minority appeasement nor majority appeasement ..
there are many more that can be in the list ..setting all these aside and inaugurating a musical fountain and toy train sounds absurd to me.

Maybe this is some election stunt.

    Good news.
Mr. J.R.LOBO has worked his best within the given frame work.

We require leaders of all political parties AND ADMINISTRATION
from D.K. and particularly Mangalore to come together with citizens and from a concrete plan for next 50 years for development. The short term development are not helpful in the long run.

    1. Siddaramaiah 's government has fallen back in Smart City fund utilization. Funds of Rs.1,924 crore was released. only 179.29 crore used (God knows how efficiently used). Balance Rs 1744.71 crore Corruption by state government !

    2. Amount of Rs 3,271 crore released for Karnataka by Central Government under the GST Relief Fund was highest for any state in India. God knows where it has gone.
    3. Amount released for Siddaramaiah Government under Smart City Development (for city-wise) :
Bangalore : Released -100 crore Utilized by Siddaramaiah Government - ZERO
Belagavi : Released -400 crore Utilized by Siddaramaiah Government - 5 crore
Hubli Dharwad : Released -269 crore Utilized by Siddaramaiah Government - 4.47 crore

Mangalore : Released -300 crore Utilized by Siddaramaiah Government - 100 crore
Total : Released -1,924 crore Utlilised by Siddaramaiah Government -179.29 crore

    4. Siddaramaiah ate a huge meal at an Official Congress meeting, where in whole meeting ‘PARTY’cipants were served with 100% silver Plates & vessels (Utensils) at a cost of Rs 35 crore(for that dinner) using POOR TAX PAYERS MONEY only !
Slave Supporters of Gulumramaya Government must answer this!

    Dear Rathan, Mangalore,

The toy train was broken down during BJP's Tenure.

What Yeddy, Shoba and Nalin Kumar Kateel have done immediately after its break down.

THEY WERE BUSY IN FABRICATING CHURCH ATTACK REPORTS AND YEDDY SHOBA WAS BUSY IN KJP PARTY.

IN THE PERIOD OF BJP THERE WAS COMMUNAL DEVELOPMENTS AND THEY ARE STILL BUSY IN DEVELOPING COMMUNAL IN FUNDAMENTALS AND INNOCENTS HOUSES.

    Will they succeed???!!! Never.

BJP is exclusively planning and laying foundation stone to get votes.

After Getting Votes they developed coorg estate of Shoba.

SEE THE CHAAIWAALA IS ONLY A RIBBON CUTTING AND INAUGURATING DEVELOPMENTS ACCOMPLISHED BY THE CONGRESS.

Dear Rathan, Kindly visit Kadri park at early hours and you will find a lot of people from all the age group having their physical excise. The Kadri park was total neglected by previous government, all funds where misused and it was in pathetic condition four years back. Please dont bring your communal comments when it comes to development. If any development is done by the government ( regardless to any government) we need to support the government development . I think you are still single and do not kids to play around . If you have any kids around , please take them to kadri park and see their reactions after spending few hours in play area.

Please grow up ...... and stop Communal .

And regarding my age I am a senior citizen and have grand children and I spend
a lot of time with them.I am resident of Mangalore and hope I know more about
Kadri more than you as you r employed in gulf and rarely visit kadri on regular basis
