Udupi: From groceries to kitchenware, the city residents have a new one shop stop ‘Zak and Sons Super Market’.
Located near Narayana Guru Sabha Bhavana, Bannanje, the new super market was inaugurated on Friday December 22 by minister for fisheries, sports and youth affairs
Government of Karnataka Pramod Madhwaraj.
“Udupi is a fast developing city and needed a super market. Everything is available here under one roof and will greatly benefit the people. The doorstep delivery
facility will help save on customer’s time. Customers will get branded and quality products here,” said Madhwaraj.
Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, Fr Valerian Mendonca, chancellor - diocese of Udupi and Imam Rashid Umri of Zamia Masjid blessed the market counters.
Purshotham Shetty of Ujwal Developers inaugurated the showroom by lighting the lamp.
Zakria Zokatte, owner of the supermarket promised customer friendly service.
Supermarket general manager Hamid Basha said that items will be sold at retail prices. From Wednesday to Sunday special discount sales will benefit the customers. All types of domestic commodities such as fruits, vegetables, spices, grains, pulses, soap and shampoo, dental care products, sanitary products, imported chocolates, detergents, bakery products, stationery, kitchen appliances, kitchenware, non stick items, steel utensils, ice cream, juice, beverages, snacks, meat and meat products, decorative items and home cleaning appliances are available at competitive prices.
"Basha informed that the supermarket has 120 counters and people can benefit from discounted prices ahead of Christmas. We are planning to expand the super market stores in Kundapur, Surathkal, Puttur, Sullia and Davangere in the upcoming days.
"Customers will also have a chance to win a Nano car, air condition or fridge on purchase of Rs 3,000 and above. Attractive family combos are also offered. The super market also extends doorstep delivery facility 5 km to 10 km from the market location."
