Puttur: Journalist travelling to Mangaluru by KSRTC bus dies en route

Puttur, Nov 17: A reporter working for a Bengaluru-based newspaper travelling by KSRTC Volvo night bus to Mangaluru from Bengaluru died of heart attack on the way. He was found dead inside the bus in the early hours of Thursday November 16.

The victim has been identified as Yadeesh (60). He was travelling by bus unaccompanied by close ones. When the bus with about 20 passengers reached Uppinangady, one of the passengers got down. At that time the conductor noticed the position of one of the travellers to be quite unusual. He tried to wake the passenger, later identified as Yadeesh, but could not. The bus was then taken to Uppinangady police station where the police found that the man was dead.

With the help of a cellphone and identity card found in the possession of Yadeesh, his relatives were contacted. The mortal remains were kept in the mortuary of the local hospital. On the basis of a complaint filed by the bus staff, a case was registered at Uppinangady police station.
