A total bad idea and a very poor home work of Air India Express. Who wants to travel out on a working day? If it is on a weekend people would accept. That is how they are running on loses. .. no strategy. .. no planning. .... most of all there no proper market survey!!

Good luck. I wish let Air India make some profit on this route.

This is not a good deal as Dubai airport terminal 2 is closer to sharjah town. Distance to Sharjah airport is much more than Dubai airport terminal 2. We advise to give chance to Air Arabia to operate to Mangalore - sharjah route.

Table top airport + Budget Airline + Aircraft in fast sink mode while landing + pilot who has flown many hours with less salary than full fare airline & has a peg or two and sleeps while in cruise & gives the full control to co-pilot & takes the control while landing without fully out of the sleep + airline company running fully on profit basis + old aircraft = deadly combination.
Non-table top airport + full fare airline + aircraft in normal landing mode + pilot who has flown normal hours + airline company not just concentrating on profit & has other sources of income + new aircraft = safe combination.

We should be happy that Air India Express will start direct flights to Sharjah every Tuesday. Something better than nothing. Maybe eventually, they might start flights to the US. Now since Etihad started flights from Mangaluru to New York via Abu Dhabi. I take that flight from New York to Mangaluru via Abu Dhabi. But that flight from Abu Dhabi to Mangaluru is by Jet Airways. Before that, I used to take a flight from Newark to Mumbai by Air India and then another flight to Mangaluru.

We dont need direct flight to Mangalore, until the custom officials stop harassing . Me like many others have decided to travel via mumbai or Bangalore even take few hours more is better to be... These guys dont know how to receive passengers and the reservation recruitment has worsen the customs department. Even if you carry within the norms there is so much scrutiny and harassment and i have seen many family mentally tortured without any reason.

I think you have not landed in Mangalore recently. I have seen ocean of changes in Mangalore customs. The current customs officials are best in India for those who do not break the law. Of course, customs officers are villain for those who want to carry duty goods more than allowed. I have seen great changes in Mangalore.

The good change among these being Mallu officers have been replaced by Tulu and Kannada speaking officers. That is why too much of smuggled gold and contraband goods are being caught in Mangalore.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE, SHARJAH AND DUBAI ARE ONE AND THE SAME, ITS LIKE FRONT DOOR AND BACK DOOR. TRY SOMETHING NEW, TRY IMPROVING QUALITY OF PLANES AND SERVICES, TRY IMPROVING MANNERS OF THE STAFF WORKING, TRY IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD YOU SERVE. APPOINT SOME GOOD EXPERIENCED PILOTS.
