Mangaluru, October 21: "The PWD has approved Rs two crore for widening the Kankanady railway station road," said MLA J R Lobo, on Friday, October 20, at the ground breaking ceremony of the project work.

“Pumpwell to Padil road is an important stretch to go to the Kankanady railway station. Its narrowness was the problem. Discussions were held with the government after realising the problem. Necessary funds are approved,” he said.

He said that the development of that road was his dream. “Traffic will ease if the road is widened. People should cooperate in this regard,” he said.

Rickshaw drivers felicitated him on the occasion.

Corporator Pravin Chandra Alva, Mangaluru taluk land justice board member Denis D’ Silva and Congress activists were present.

    It is good to know about recent developments of taking up development works in and around Mangalore costing crores of rupees. Such works need to be completed within the stipulated contract period and not dragging years together as public will be inconvenienced if works are delayed.

    It's a good initiative.But just imagine what kind of road it will be constructed in Rs
    2cr...60% allotted money will go to the babus pocket... remaining will go to the contractor.As I know one of my friend got contract in Ulala vidhansabha area for sea erosion...he had to pay to all to the govt babus and politician,once the work is done the contractor has to run to the pillar to the post to get his money and he had to pay from his pocket to these govt babus and MLA of the area then he will get his money.
    If he doesn't give back the money which is allocated to him,so much he has to share to these babus.
