Bantwal: Drinking water supply project for town - CM to inaugurate

Bantwal, Oct 10: Works under integrated drinking water supply project for the town is in progress under Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns at a cost of Rs 57.75 crore. The project, which envisages supply of clean drinking water to the entire municipal limits, will use water from River Netravati. Chief minister, Siddaramaiah, will be inaugurating the project soon.

This information was given by Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rao. He was speaking to media persons after inspecting works under the integrated drinking water project for municipal limits, on the evening of Monday October 9.



"When drawing up this project, we have taken into account requirement of water based on projection of population growth for the next thirty years. 42 lac litres of drinking water would be generated by the project every day, he added.

Municipal president, P Ramakrishna Alva, vice president, Muhammed Nanadarabettu, Bantwal Urban Development Authority chairman, Sadashiva Bangera, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board member, Pius L Rodrigues, several municipal councillors, municipal chief officer, Rekha Shetty, engineer, Dominic D'Mello, and many others were present.

    All last moment mash up by Ramanat before losing in elections. Surprised to see that till now in Ramanat's Dictatorship rule at Bantwal, he dint provide drinking water facility. Also, the infrastructure doesn't look as if 57 crore is invested on it. God knows how much & who have eaten them. Why can't people itself inaugurate this, instead of waking up Siddramaiah from his sound sleep ?
