Kundapur, Oct 7: Hundreds of people belonging to Vishwakarma community gathered in the leadership of taluk carpenter association near Arehole cross here on Friday, October 6 to protest against inhuman assault on their elder Herianna Acharya in open place and urged arrest of the suspects of assault.
They alleged that Herianna Acharya, resident of Heroor gram Madlakeri was severely assaulted by Prashanth Devadiga and others near Arehole cross on October 1.
“The culprits entered the house of Herianna at night and threatened the family members. Though a complaint has been lodged at Byndoor police station none have been arrested so far. A poor man was insulted, chased and assaulted which is illegal. The suspects should be arrested within next eight hours failing which protests will be held in district and at state level,” they warned.
