Puttur: Tense situation in Kundaje as two groups fight over petty issue

Puttur, Sep 25: Kundaje near here is facing a tense situation after two groups fought over a petty issue on Sunday, September 24.

It is said that the fight erupted over an issue of vehicle overtaking on the road. The two groups involved in the fight are from opposite communities.

As per details, arguments started between two parties on the Uppinangadi-Kadaba-Subramanya road on the issue of overtaking. More people from respective opposite communities joined each group and fight took place between two groups. Subsequently some local leaders came and pacified the people and sent them away from the place.

But later both the groups gathered opposite a cooperative bank and started fighting again. Police came to the spot and brought the situation under control.

As the situation is still tense, police personnel have been deployed at the village.

Puttur rural police circle inspector Anil Kulkarni and Kadaba sub-inspector Prakash Devadiga came to the village to monitor the situation.

It is said that some youths have been taken into police custody to prevent further troubles.

    Puttur is a peaceful center for the last several years in the Dakshina Kannada district, Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty left the BJP and was elected MLA from the Congress party Last election, The BJP, which does not tolerate this, is doing the job of defeating Shakuntala Shetty in the next election, This is the reason why BJP is trying to communal clash, rally in Puttur.
