M'luru: Commonwealth games gold medalist Pradeep Kumar returns home

Mangaluru, Sep 22: Talented sportsman of Karnataka, powerlifter Pradeep Kumar Acharya who competed in the recent Commonwealth power lifting and Bench Press Championship at Potchefstroom, South Africa and won gold medal and best weightlifter award, drawing world attention has returned with joy to Mangaluru, his hometown on Tuesday September 19.

Pradeep is the first Indian who has won such awards. He has also won a gold medal and two silver medals in three other divisions of the tourney.



Pradeep, a resident of Mangaluru Urwa store is practicing powerlifting at Balanjaneya Gym under the guidance of Sathish Kumar Kudroli and Pracheth K. Being a fitness employee, he intends to win more medals for the country.
