Mangaluru, Sep 8: The police have registered an FIR against MP Nalin Kumar Kateel of BJP who was caught on camera abusing and threatening the police over his party's 'Mangaluru Chalo' protest.

During the 'Mangaluru Chalo' protest by BJP Yuva Morcha on Thursday September 7 that saw the party's state leaders including Yeddyurappa, Eshwarappa, R Ashok and many others in attendance, the protestors pushed through the barricades set up by the police in violation of the ban on the rally to Nehru Maidan. The police who intervened detained around 850 protestors, including leaders.

Nalin Kumar Kateel allegedly obstructed police duty and was caught on camera abusing and threatening Kadri police inspector Maruthi Nayak of calling a bandh within half an hour over detention of BJP members.

He was also seen banging on the table in anger and trying to grab the inspector's phone.

The video went viral in no time, with people from various quarters criticising the MP for his behaviour.

The Kadri police have registered an FIR against Nalin Kateel and two others, based on a complaint by inspector Maruthi Nayak. The case has been registered under IPC section 353 (deterring public servant from discharging duty).

BJP would have won public support if police were allowed to do their duty, arrest and file FIR against party workers since there was no any other violent incident during the rally. Nalin’s arrogant and rude behaviour lost everything. This unexpected incident will never be forgotten by the people of Mangalore at least until the elections.

Its a fashion for the BJP and its alliance (backed up by RSS) to call for bandh and threaten the police force to take action in their favor. I was the one who thought this party will do better for the state...They have looted during Yeddiyurappas tenure, there was unrest and communal clashes. Mr Nalin Kumar said there was no communal clash during BJP ruling the state. Let me remind the Kalladka Incident, church attacks, Bangalore violence, Hassan clashes all this happened during the tenure of BJP. I will not say all is good during Siddaramayya, he is better than our own BJP.

Uttar Kannada MP bashed Doctors on duty now Prime Minister Modi made him Minister of skill development for his unique skills.
Now Dakshina Kannada MP who was first went to receive NAMO founder in central jail in RTI murder case. He has also recently cut short his Russian tour to save his fanatic comrades who are wanted after Sharath funeral procession law and order related case.

In Mangalore pump runs by threatening and providing security business. NAMO leads a normal life after murder. Pub attackers and morning attackers all got bail and again found in some other crime. What one FIR is going to make different who has threatened to burn the whole district that he represented?
