'Mangaluru Chalo': MP Nalin Kateel threatens police of district bandh, video goes viral

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Updated

Mangaluru, Sep 7: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel of BJP is in the news again for threatening the police.

Soon after police detained 850 BJP leaders and workers for crossing the barricades and attempting to march to Nehru Maidan in violation of the ban on rally during 'Mangaluru Chalo' protest here on Thursday September 7, MP Nalin Kumar was caught in a video that purpotedly shows him pointing fingers a police inspector and threatening to call for a bandh.

The video went viral in no time, widely shared on WhatsApp and other social media networks.

In the video, Nalin Kateel is seen purportedly threatening the police over detention of BJP members for violating the orders against the rally. He allegedly threatened the police of calling a district-wide bandh.

The incident was recorded at Gorakshanath Jnana Mandir in Kadri, where the police had detained several BJP party workers.

"I will call for a district-wide bandh within half-an-hour," an angry Nalin told Kadri police inspector Maruthi Nayak.

The police were had detained several BJP members including BJP women's wing members. On receiving information about this, Nalin arrived at the spot and took the police to task.

In the video, when the inspector calls his senior on phone, Nalin is seen trying to snatch away the phone from him and banging the table while issuing threat to call for bandh.

Police sources said that there may be possibility of booking Nalin Kumar for obstructing duty and threatening the police.

This is not the first time MP Nalin Kateel has made headines for issuing threats. Earlier this year, during a protest demanding arrest of culprits behind the murder of Karthik Raj, he had threatened to set Dakshina Kannada district on fire if the police fail to make arrests within 10 days. The murder, however, turned out be the result of a sibling rivalry.

When Churches were attached and destroyed in Mangalore,
    BJP was ruling Karnataka state,
    Center was ruled by Congress,
More than 900 people who were protesting arrested with Fake Charge-Sheets and filed more than 200 cases against them then BJP government,
Even though Congress was in power at Center none of the Congress MP’S, MLA’s acted like ‘Nalin’ with then Mangalore police.
    ** People will watch this**:
Now Karnataka State ruled by Congress no doubt about this,
Center is ruled and governed by BJP it is truth and people should consider Behavior of this Central MP.

I don’t thing Mangalore people will forget or forgive him in next election, better BJP expel him from party itself and he should resign from MP post and soon he should be arrested and put behind bars.

It's high time,so called VVIP's understand the value, power & the selfless sacrifice of uniformed men, women in odd situations arificially created by politicians not benifitting any citizens, but trouble for cheap poularity & paid show of strength-be it from any political party.Nalin should apolozise as may be for the 1st time in his tenure as an M.P,he lost his cool.He has vast ,potential to rise & he'll, if only he learns how to behave in public life. So,Nalin, in the better interest of U,the party &the hurt citizens of Mangaluru,Udupi, D.K,Karnataka, feel the mistake done by your aggresion & promise,u won't repeat it as most of your work as an M.P.are Best of all & we wish U grow with true love from all.The earlier U learn this is the Better for you only.Rest,it's upto U as Modiji won't tolerate these gimmics-i am very sure.Best wishes to you & a Big Salute to all in Uniform for performing par excellence in odd situations.

Protest is a fundamental right. But recent events around Bantwal might have prompted state Government to deny this assembly, which had all aggressive features...a small trigger here or there State Govt, would be held responsible.
Since 1992, BJP has tried these rallies, for its benefit but disaster to the nation and innocents concerned. Mumbai"92 till now, if you analyse any election is preceded by rallies of this sort and then some communal killing. The top leaders supported by Z+seecurity talk and get away exposing the cadre who invariably pay thro their lives.

Leave alone obstructing a Govt servant, threatening should not be condoned. Mangalore Police is one of the finest Police Polite and dignified unlike their nothern counter parts.

The unfortunate ground reality in India is that whoever has power will have upper hand. Cops will behave in high handed way when they deal with common man. Elected reps will behave in a high handed way with cops. Toll plaza thugs behave badly with normal citizens. Those who are affiliated with various vedikes will teach them a lesson. So, bottom line, rule of law like western countries is a mirage. But you see, in western countries, they will not try to scuttle protests like what our government did by banning BJP protest.

No one should be making threats in a civilized democratic society.
Police have families, rights and responsibilities too!
    Normal life must go on.
These goondas want to rule the streets and disturb peace. Who is protect the citizens and their property?

Try to mull around Nalin's house and throw a stone - see if you will live to see where the stone landed!!!!!!!!!
