Goa Suraksha Manch says Parrikar's reputation tarnished

Panaji, Aug 23: Goa Suraksha Manch said that resentment against chief minister Manohar Parrikar would compel people to vote for Goa Suraksha Manch candidate Anand Shirodkar.

"In this election the situation is different. In the ladt election Parrikar's reputation as the defence minister was already tarnished and that is why the people rejected the BJP, reducing their strength from 21 to 13 MLAs," rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar said.

"Parrikar's personal status has taken a further plunge after the elections because of his stand on casinos, drugs or the manipulation in government formation. We are sure we will win because the better choice is Goa Suraksha Manch. We are not looking at big margin. We will win by 500-600 votes," Velingkar said.
