Yogi Adityanath: If I cannot stop namaz on road, I have no right to stop Janmashtami at thana

Lucknow, Aug 17 (The Indian Express): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Wednesday said that if he cannot stop the offering of namaz on roads during Eid, he has no right to stop celebration of Janmashtami at police stations. “Agar mai sadak par Eid ke din namaz padhne pe rok nahi laga sakta to mujhe koi adhikar nahi ki mai thano mein janmashtami ke parv ko rokun… koi adhikar nahi,” he said.

He said when officers red-flagged the use of microphones, DJs and music systems during the recent kanwar yatra (the annual pilgrimage of Shiv devotees), he told them to ensure that microphones are banned everywhere and no sound emanates from any place of worship. He said he asked the administration whether such a ban could be enforced and if it was not possible, then the yatra would continue the usual way.

(“Maine prashasan se kaha… sabhi pradeshon ke jo adhikari aaye thay… maine kaha ki mere saamne ek aadesh paarit kariye phir ki mike har jagah ke liye partibandhit honi chahiye… har jagah ban karo… aur yeh tay kariye ki kisi bhi dharmsthal mein… uski premises ke bahar, uski awaaz aani hi nahi chahiye… kya isko laagu kar payenge?…Agar laagu nahin kar sakte hain to phir isko bhi hum laagu nahi hone denge… yatra chalegi.”)

Speaking at an event organised by the Prerna Jansanchar Evam Shidh Sansthan, Noida and Lucknow Jansanchar Evam Patrakarita Sansthan — RSS Sah-Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale too was present — the Chief Minister said officers briefing him on the kanwar yatra told him that use of use of microphones, DJs and music systems would not be allowed.

“Maine kaha ki ye kanwar yatra hai ya shav yatra?… Arrey woh kanwar yatra mein baaje nahin bajenge, damru nahin bajega, dhol nahin bajega, chimte nahin bajenge, log nachenge-gayenge nahin, mike nahi bajega to woh yatra kanwar yatra kaise hogi,” he said.

(I asked if this was a kanwar yatra or a funeral procession. If they don’t play music and drums, don’t dance and sing, don’t use the mike, how will it be a kanwar yatra) Quoting RSS ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya, Yogi Adityanath said no one should have any objection on the celebration of Ganesh Utsav in every village and town.
He said everyone has the freedom to celebrate festivals in the country. “Hum sabke liye kahenge… Aap Christmas bhi manaiye… kaun rok raha hai… Bharat ke andar kabhi nahi roka gaya… Aap namaz bhi padhiye, araam se padhiye… kanoon ke daayre me reh kar ke padhiye, koi rokega nahin… lekin kanoon ka ulanghan koi karega toh us par kahin na kahin phir takrao paida hoga… aur isi liye in muddon ko prakharta ke saath unhone (Deendayal Upadhyaya) rakha,” he said.

Those who work for strengthening the cultural unity of the country, he said, are called communal. “Jaise, agar mai kahun ki ‘garv se kaho main Hindu hoon’ toh kahenge ki dekhiye, sampradayik ho gaya.” (For example, if I say take pride in saying I am a Hindu, I will be called communal).

He said in Nepal, Mauritius or any country where Hindus of Indian origin live, they feel proud to be called Hindus. “But if we say the same in India, we will be called communal,” he said.

Targeting the previous SP government, Yogi Adityanath said those who called themselves Yaduvanshis had banned the celebration of Janmashtami at police stations and police lines. He said he was of the belief that “prayers and kirtan may bring improvement in the police system”.

A police station of a locality or village is the basic unit that looks after the law and order of that area. Every police station is headed by a Station House Officer (S.H.O.) who is generally an inspector from the police department. Under him works a team consisting of a Sub-Inspector, Head Constable and Constables.
The main functions of a local police unit are:
    1. It looks after the safety of the neighborhood and prevents crime by patrolling the area.
    2. It protects the vehicles and property from theft by having police booths at crowded places and parking lots.
    3. In case of a crime, it investigates the matter and brings the criminals to justice.
    4. Based on the FIR, it can arrest the accused person.
    5. It assists the people of the locality in case of any accident or natural calamity.
    6. It ensures that traffic rules are respected so that accidents are reduced to a minimum.
The police station is a symbol of safety and security to the people of a locality.

It is extremely important to understand what is Namaaz. is one of the Five Pillars in the faith of Islam and an obligatory religious duty for every Muslim. It is a physical, mental, and spiritual act of worship that is observed five times every day at prescribed times. In this ritual, the worshiper starts standing, bows, prostrates themself, and concludes while sitting on the ground. It is connect with Allah, to be able to become more sincere in what you ask from Allah, to establish Namaaz, to be able to find peace in our namaaz.

Police stations are meant for community service to maintain law and order. Namaz is for Allah the almighty in Islam.

CM Yogi should better understand that 'Namaz' on the road(due to adequate space) or inside Mosque is only offered for Allah the almighty. Role of the Police Station is serve the community or neighborhood safer, regardless of what's inside it.
This is nothing but deviation tactics to hide the administrative failure in children's deaths due to lack of oxygen.

Did any one stop or oppose people blocking every fortnight at Car Street in Mangalore. There are many commentators living in Muslim countries who are opposing and supporting the Yogi. Did you find any police station in those countries celebrating Eid at police stations a big NO. Why commercialize and communalize the police force?. Every one has his/her right to celebrate festivities at their own place of worship. Yogi is preaching as if there is no road blocks during a large number of festivities of Majority community. Did anyone oppose it?

    No politics please...

of the first 30 deaths that occurred on August 10 and 11, only five were due to acute encephalitis syndrome or AES; one was due to hepatic encephalopathy, which is related to AES. The other deaths were of terminally ill newborns.

Some of them suffered from diseases such as pneumonia, sepsis, and swine flu while others were preterm babies in a critical condition. Among the 13 children who died on August 12 only one was due to AES.

As per few reports more than 50,000 children have passed away without even reaching hospitals.

Dakshina Kannada is blessed to have good medical facilities and healthy lifestyle. Its not the same, everywhere....

We have a long way to go and a long battle to fight to make India a better place to live....

Its wise to think twice and comment :)

Yogiji, please give place for the Muslims to build a mosque so that all these people can be together and pray. Don't you think so? Think positive and you will get worthy ideas. We the people of India are all brothers and sisters and let them worship without any inconvenience. Yes during EID crowd is more as they may have one prayer service. But whatever the case, they are praying for you and all of us. And just not simply making noise. So please think about this and give them a place where they can pray and spare the road. Hope you take this request. Thank you.

Shetre, please pray for the innocent children souls and their unfortunate, poor, helpless parents. God forbid, if this tragedy happen in your family, I bet no statement of CM will bring joy to you. Sit quietly for a moment and think what pain these parents may be going through. Suppose any politician's children were dead, entire U.P. would have compelled to mourn. Jackals are expert in diverting the minds of people and we fall prey for it. Beneficiaries are politicians.

we don't have problem if you celebrate anything where it may be, but don't force someone to do, which is not acceptable.
namaz praying on roads might be block road for few minutes, but it's not harming anyone.

When was police station declared as Hindu Police station to celebrate only Hindu festivals? Are these Policemen not celebrating festivals at home with their family or in temples? Why are they making it as a partocular community police station when the constitution says Police stations are for each and every citizen of country and allows only National Festivals such as Independence Day, Republic Day etc but not any Religions festival.

If such is the case then let Police celebrate all festivals from different Religion, if they can't let them stop from celebrating any festivals. Police station is meant to all, if they think it's only for Hindus then there should be separate Police stations for different communities each.

No Christian says 'garv se kaho main Christian hoon’
Then, why some say 'garv se kaho main ............ hoon'...

It is not ones religion or proclaiming I am this and I am that. It is that all good deeds, being a good human being and treating each and everyone equal.
