Gorakhpur hospital tragedy: Death toll rises to 63, CM Yogi calls for emergency meet

New Delhi, Aug 12 (Zee News): The death toll in Gorakhpur tragedy rose to 63 after an 11-year-old child died due to encephalitis at Baba Raghav Das Medical College hospital on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, the alleged disruption in the supply of liquid oxygen at the hospital had claimed lives of two children.

Yesterday, it was reported that as many as 30 children lost their lives due to encephalitis in a span of 48 hours at the hospital. As per the data procured from the BRD hospital, in past five days from August 7 to August 11, a total of 60 deaths occurred in the hospital.

The families of the children have claimed that the doctors were not treating them well and the hospital was not even providing the medicines which were required for the treatment.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for an emergency meet later in the day over the alarming turn of events. It has also been reported after the meeting, the ministers are expected to visit the BRD Medical College in CM's home turf.

In a series of Tweet PM Mod said Yogi Adityanath will make Uttar Pradesh 'Uttam Pradesh'.
    Here is the Tweet read from PM;
I have immense confidence that this new team will leave no stone unturned in making UP Uttam Pradesh. There will be record development.3:18 AM - 19 Mar 2017

Since Yogi Adityanath took over as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, special care is being taken for the protection of cows. Keshav Prasad Maurya, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, flagged off five ambulances on Monday that will cater to cows. The 'Gauvansh Chikitsa Mobile Vans' service will see that all injured cows are rescued and given appropriate treatment at 'gaushalas' after they are taken there in the ambulances.

One day, in Digital India women will birth cows - after the sex-change of course - instead of sons and daughters because then, finally, they will have a toll-free number to call an ambulance.

It's all about pride. Imagine India setting benchmarks as a cow-loving-human-shunning country because that's the hope.Cows can run governments because we will all be dead by the time a human ambulance arrives.

This is the pathetic situation of 'Uttam Pradesh' were numbers of death toll hardly matter as long as the dead are not 'cows'.

Don't worry 'intelligent' voters will still vote you back. All it requires is one more hot air speech from 56" to fool everyone. And even If you don't vote then EVM magic trick or 15 crores to purchase is there.

I think it has to be a hospital. It is okay, somebody's children died, who cares ? But, goshala is where everyone's mothers are taken care.

It is neither hospital nor goshala. The father who lost 4-day-old child said "It is a slaughterhouse." The Nobel Peace Laureate, Kailash Satyarti said it is a massacre by Yogi Govt.

How much fund reduction for healthcare by the Central Government by the internationally known good Samaritan Arun Jaitly? How much fund cutting for the Women and Child Development for the Menaka Gandhi portfolio? Arun Jaitly flew to Kerala in a chartered plane to console the grieving family of a RSS pracharaka, burning tax payers money like a mere joke. Yogi has reduced the budget for education in U.P. 50% based on a report.

For the RSS Government, human life is nothing: but only the life of the high caste and their own party high class followers. They will use the street people for their political mileage through sacrificing their lives by pushing them to the war front with the opposition group.

Any nation in the world where the animals are wandering around, making everything dirty, causing traffic accidents and killing people? A country of animal worship in the 21st century!

This is the result of a highly efficient administration. Politics of cow and religion of the BJP is all what they care about most. Such tragedies happen when Yogis, Babas and Sadhus are given jobs they are highly unqualified for. Children die. BJP will find now find someone in the Congress or other opposition parties to transfer the blame onto and cows will be protected. This kind of BJP politics is fast taking this country to the dumpyard. Shame on the BJP government and it's CM in UP.

The Modi team is working so hard, how to create political mileage out of this tragedy of negligence. There might be a padayatra from New Delhi to Gorakpur to attract more followers to the party and conducting a national funeral service.

CM Yogi went to visit a soldier a few months back, special air conditioning at the soldier's home-carpet and furniture for Yogi's visit, but all of them were taken out after the short visit was over with.

Such a big show of visit by the VIPs from New Delhi will be taking place; green carpet spread all over Gorakpur. Human beings have no value in India, that is the aacha din of India now.

This should be enough to shake the conscience of the government. In stead of directing their attention to important matters like health care, water and shelter to the people, these useless fellows are more interested in dividing the people along communal lines and taking more care of cows. It is like giving a stick in the hands of monkeys.

It should be made mandatory for all ministers, MPs and MLAs to get their kin treated in nearest government hospital to their respective constituency. Only then will the facilities for the general public improve. Same with government school and colleges. The people responsible should be apprehended immediately and treated without any mercy......the toughest punishment should be meted out.

@Rolf Dubai,it is not a must to be a married man and have children. It is their own wish. But as a minister and as human feelings atleast one should have. When it is not there he should give up this post when he cant take resposibility for his people and Nation. He should react immediately when such tragody happens .What he does?A emergency meet, and wish to visit!.He should have immediately visited the hospital. No meet is required.Immediate to see what is required in hospital ,what is wrong, and if necessary close the hospital for further spread of infection ,clean disinfection and see if children had any vaccination or not.Lack of oxygen should be arranged.Employ someone who can see these things. He should resign I feel.Go to people and convince them.Required medicines should be provided.very tragic situation.
