Udupi: District JD(S) promises support to Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji

Udupi, Jun 29: The district JD(S) met Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji at Sri Krishna Temple here on Tuesday June 28 to extend its support to the Swamiji.

After meeting the Swamiji, district JD(S) president Yogish Shetty addressing media persons said, "India is the only country in the world that has achieved unity in diversity. We have seen that people of all religions namely Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Buddhism and others have been living together since ancient times."



"Some organizations are creating confusion against Pejawar Swamiji’s decision of hosting Iftar party for Muslims at Sri Krishna Math here, for the purpose of gaining publicity. There is a history behind the act. Minorities had contributed a lot toward Krishna Math. We the party will work strongly to condemn this disrespectful act of the Hindu propagators."

He encouraged unity to prevail by saying, "If any party stands against the Math, JD(S) workers will support Swamiji. I hope that Muslim and Christian communities will celebrate Hindu feasts along with them in future. Let us pray for a peaceful society to live in."

Shalini Shetty Kenchanuru, district president, women's wing, Abdul Khadar Kunjalu, block president, Hunsoor Ibrahim, president, minorities wing, Vedavati Hedge, chief secretary, Vishalakshi Shetty, Dilshad, oragnising secretary, Abbas, Hazi, Shekhar Kotian, Ramesh Master, Sachin and others were present.
