Mangaluru, May 21: Heralding a new chapter in medical tourism in the district, hnc Healthcare Sunday, May 21 opened its new venture, hnc Mangalore Clinic on the first floor of Falnir Health Centre here.

Dr Shantharam Shetty, pro chancellor of Nitte University chaired the inauguration. Dr Shanith Mangalath, chairman and CEO of hnc Healthcare presided over the function.

Yenepoya Farhad, director (finance), Yenepoya Group, Dr Mohammad Tahir, director, Yenepoya Specialty Hospital, Dr Ashok Hegde, dean, AJ Institute of Medical Science, Dr Jayaprakash Alva, dean, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Dr G K Bhat Sankabithilu, treasurer and former president of IMA Mangaluru, Dr M Annayya Kulal, National Planning Commission member, IMA, and Mohammed Saleem, medical director, hnc Healthcare were the guests of honor.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Shantharam Shetty said, "Mangaluru is famous for healthcare. Our doctors and paramedical staff are among the leading Indian and global medical professionals. Their service has been highly appreciated from all corners of the world. Now hnc has come forward to introduce medical tourism in Mangaluru. I think this will open the gate to a new era in Mangalurean healthcare sector. We are always happy to be part of new ventures in our city. hnc is operating with the motive of giving something to society in the realm of healthcare. On behalf of the citizens of Mangaluru, I wish hnc all success. I thank Dr Mangalath for choosing Mangaluru for this unique project."

Chairman of hnc Dr Shanith Mangalath said, "I studied in Yenepoya Medical College and I know Mangaluru city very well. I am impressed with the hospitality and lifestyle of the citizens of Mangaluru. After completion of education, I thought I need to give something back to this wonderful city. Now my dream has come true. After rendering successful service in the Middle East, we have now opened our new unit here with a unique concept. With this venture, we are focusing on medical tourism in Mangaluru. We hope this will help foreigners and NRIs, especially those residing in the Middle East. I am thankful to my mentor Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi and all my associates. Thank you all."

Dr Binish briefed on the structure of hnc Group. Director of hnc Dr Mohammad Saleem welcomed the dignitaries and the guests.

hnc Healthcare Group will aggressively focus on creating medical tourism hub in Mangaluru, working closely with hospitals of repute, and as part of this, hnc Healthcare has signed an agreement with Yenepoya Specialty Hospital.

Knowing that Mangaluru has a potential to grow into a world health destination, hnc Healthcare has launched its first clinic in the heart of the city at Falnir Health Centre. This clinic is designed to cater to the regional population as well as those from other states and foreigners. The doctors of hnc Healthcare will serve not only in India but also in GCC countries like the UAE,Qatar and Oman without affecting their professional practice here. hnc will guide and support doctors to build an international career.
