Mangaluru, May 19: Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader on Friday, May 19 denied allegations that Karnataka cadre IAS officer Anurag Tiwari was about to expose scams worth crores of rupees which took place under the current Congress-led government in Karnataka.

Addressing mediapersons at Circuit House Khader said, "Anurag Tiwari was posted as commissioner in the department of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs in Bengaluru from January 4, 2017. Serving at the office for 138 days, Tiwari worked only for 37 days. He was on official leave for IAS training for the rest of the days. He was also the observer for UP elections during January."

"During this period, Tiwari did not mention anything about the scams worth crores of rupees either orally or in written form. Now, the UP government is investigating the case. We are ready to co-operate in every possible way. Regarding allegations made by opposition on the scam, I am not aware how this issue of scam came up. Tiwari never brought any scam to my notice. We never knew that he was under any pressure. The opposition party are known for politicising issues and they have that reputation in the state too. So an inquiry should be conducted and the cause of the death should be known," he added.

Anurag Tiwari did not bring any scam to my notice - U T Khader

Bengaluru, May 19 (DHNS): Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader on Thursday said Anurag Tiwari, the commissioner of the department, had not brought any scam in the department to his notice.

“He (Tiwari) never mentioned about any scam in the department. He was also in charge of the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation. If there was any such scam, he would have brought it to my notice,” he said, on seeking his reaction to the statement by Tiwari’s brother’s Mayank that the officer was about to expose a major scam.

Mayank had said honest officers were being targeted in Karnataka and suspected that his brother was one of the victims.

He claimed that Anurag was about to expose a scam worth over Rs 2,000 crore in the state. Anurag’s family members have been suspecting foul play.

Sources in the department said Tiwari had not mentioned any major scam in any of the official correspondences with the government. He used to take leave very often, it is said.

    @jossey,

    While it is not my intention to preempt the investigation agency..,
    The keenness of opposition's spontaneous/volcanic offensive approach that too pointing towards honorable CM lead Karnataka govt., reflect underlying political power grabbing lust at any cost ...., obviously prompt call for investigators attention which you are pointing towards ...,

    It should be noted that, a young upright bureaucrat was worked in office for only 37 days of his 138 days of service in the food dept...., The concerned honorable minister clarified in his press brief that, there is no official alerts of any such scam in official notes..., means BJP knows more than the govt.., let them produce it or prove it..., but of course such items should be genuine..., not a fabricated or a FEKU one's.

    Now onus is on the BJP lead UP govt to track & trace the perpetrators..., this should happen at the earliest..., else probably this bureaucrat's death news may be sold by the political parties to fulfill their political power grabbing lust...,

    Both the issues referred to/inferred, viz., suspected foul play in the death of Senior IAS Official, Mr. Anurag Tiwari, as well as allegations of a huge scam in Food & Civil Supplies Dept. of Karnataka State, are very serious in nature.

    Hope an impartial and thoroughly professional investigation is conducted into both the issues, by the respective jurisdictional agencies to bring out the truth, and nothing but the truth. Hope these are carried out to their logical end, to restore the shaken morale of the members of the public and to restore their confidence in public institutions.

    Both feku modi and bachcha yogi 's governments are failed miserably to tackle the poverty, employment, price rise of necessity items and other common issues. Kashmir is burning. both are useless guys. feku modi doesn't even know how to address the current issues. he is stick to man ki bathen and ICJ. When congress was ruling pakistan sponsored militants conducted attacks on mumbai and at jammu & kashmir , at that time feku modi was shouting why going to USA/PAKISTAN for negotiations? Go to pakistan with military? what is he doing now? both the governments are in ICU and surviving and performing on Facebook, twitter and other social media.
