Puttur, May 16: A mason working for an under-construction house at Korambadka near Perlmapady in the taluk died on Monday May 15 after a lintel block came crashing on him.
The deceased was Shekhar Poojary (40), resident of Perlampady. He is survived by wife and two young daughters.
Poojary was engaged in the work of smoothing the floor when he became victim of this unexpected accident. The lintel came crashing down as the pillar supporting the lintel got severed, it is learnt. Poojary was immediately taken to hospital, but he died on the way.
