Mangaluru, Apr 30: As announced, Mother Mary of Fatima statue arrived at St Lawrence Church on April 29 at 6.30 pm, in a procession from Derebail church, led by Fr Austin Peris and parishioners.

It was formally received by Fr Jason Monis and Fr Dr Leo Veigas and a large number of parishioners at Bondel. The vice president, Henbert Pinto and parish council members were present. On receiving the statue, devotees honoured it with garlands and flowers.

A prayer service led by Fr Leo Veigas was conducted in the presence of Derebail and Bondel parishioners.

The statue will be kept for veneration till May 12 and will then be handed over to Thannirbhavi parish for further celebrations on May 13.

Everyday rosary and prayer service will be conducted till May 12 under the leadership of various ward heads and religious organisations. It is noteworthy that nine wards from 30 in Bondel parish are dedicated to Mother Mary.
