Karkala: Head constable suffers cardiac arrest in bus, passes away

Karkala, Apr 21: Narasimha Bhandarkar (55), working as head constable in Hiriyadka police station in the taluk, breathed his last due to cardiac arrest on the night of Thursday, April 20.

After duty hours on Thursday, Bhandarkar, a resident of the town, was returning home by a bus at around 9.30 pm. He suddenly complained of severe chest pain. Arrangements were immediately made to take him to a private hospital here. After providing initial treatment, he was referred to Kasturba Medical College Hospital at Manipal. However, the doctors there declared him brought dead, it is gathered.

Narasimha Bhandarkar had earlier served in various police stations including Ajekar and Kundapur. He is survived by wife, a son, and a daughter. His daughter is married, and the son is a final year engineering degree course student, it is learnt.

His funeral will take place at 11 am today at Chandu Maidan, where district armed forces office is located.

    Sad.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to the family. I think in India still many heartattack patients are not getting proper treatment in time .I mean when one gets heartattack on the way ,he will be immediately made arrangements to transfer to a hospital.But not given on spot required heart massage first ,or call a doctor to give treatment first and then trasfer.Because transfer him causes a lot of time till he reaches hospital ,first admit ,examin ,etc.causes,waste time ,Meantime the needed oxygen supply to brain or heart will make irrepairable problem .Second then they transfer a patient to another place,during transfer ,again heart suffers,Never transfer a patient with heartattack when acute stage.unless a ambulence with oxygen and doctor is present.Many of our hospitals in citys are not equipped with (In villages too)such emergencies treatment.why cant health minister think of it?People should be taught to give a emergency heart massage suppose one gets heartattack.

    It is sad that the head constable died serving a secular state. Citizens have to pay a tribute to police personnel. They do a great service. The police are better off in the Congress regime than in the BJP rule. Congress though has its own interests they do not make use of police for communal purposes. It is only the BJP that has made use of police to protect hooligans who attack those validly transport cows, boys and girls who converse, churches and mosques. The police become a tool to further the hateful and violent ideology of the Sangh Parivar.

    Hiraidka looks like not much work in police station as it's fall in between perdoor to athradi ontibettu madaga etc. Sitting too much also in one place will automatically develop some uncertainty in the body. Need always active to go around. Only eating is not so important even need some exercises.

    police personnels are in brink of afraidness after assault in ASI Lingappa.
    when will kauff turn to happiness one wants to wait n watch..
    wants to unite and pool our vote to bjp to win as done in U.P to have prosperity in state for long run.
    what happened is not good..may be he depended more on red meat.

    pinto thukh gothu aasa...reason behind death.
    there are many reasons behind. even attack on ASI Lingappa..people especially police afraid to do patrolling alone. who will take responsibilty if things go beyond limit. cannot able to measure all things from one angle.
