Two killed, 10 injured in communal violence in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, March 25 (IANS): Two persons were killed, one of them in police firing, and 10 others injured while around 50 houses were ransacked and set ablaze along with many vehicles following a communal clash in a village in Gujarat's Patan district on Saturday evening, police said.

Patan Superintendent of Police Ashwin Chauhan said a minor altercation between two students over some dispute while going for the high school examinations in Vadavali village soon assumed communal overtones and flared up into a major clash involving people from at least three surrounding villages.

Violent mobs first ransacked and then torched around 50 houses of a particular community. More than two dozen vehicles parked in front of the houses were also burnt down.

Police from Patan and Mehsana rushed to the spot but with the situation threatening to spiral out of control, in-charge Director General of Police P.P. Pandey despatched Inspector General of Police, Gandhinagar to the riot-torn village to oversee matters. It also took more than 10 fire engines from Mehsana, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar to douse the fire in the houses and vehicles set ablaze.

Police carried out a baton-charge and used teargas shells to disperse the mob but the violence continued, forcing them to open fire in which one youth was killed. At least 10 people sustained injuries in stone throwing between the two groups.

Gujarat Vidhan Sabha elections are due in end of 2017. PM Modi central government wanted to prepone the election considering the huge success in UP assembly election.
His most trusted Patel voters are now turning their back to Modi BJP has no other way to retain power other than reintroduction of 'Godhra Model'.
Supreme Court judiciary power is none to exist which made easy for BJP to use communal development with deadly mix of nationalism.
The season of communal violence in recent decade mostly coincide with coming elections. It is known fact the BJP is the only party benefited for such violence and no other party in India knew how to counter it. If some party takes the side they are automatically classified as 'minority appeasement' . If oppose they are 'deshdrohi' or may face barge of onslaught like Delhi CM Kejriwal.
Criminal, Casteism, Communal and corruption of are the four solid pillars of BJP survival. So it is eminent expect such 'Gujarat model' prior to election season.
PM Modi already instructed their sitting MLA's over work for Gujarat to retain. In likely scenario there will be more hate speeches, communal violence, cow vigilantes and Romeo's can't be ruled out. My worst fear is fake terror strike like UP in the last and crucial phase of elections with Swami Aseemanand was already on payroll.

Congress is very dim chances in Gujarat with present leadership. But no one knows what is the outcome unless EVM don't get rigged.

Since BJP rule in Gujrat law and order situation is very very bad. Without peace and law and order no state can progress and prosper. Gujrat is full of corruption and filled with criminals, murderers and rapists.

Very good and Gujarat is already popular for this. Also when this will happen in Uttar Pradesh? Why BJP govt cannot form 'Anti Communal Violence Brigade' rather than forming the 'Anti Romeo Brigade' and harassing the couples on the streets?

Gujarat has a history of communal riots since independence. The worst among them were in 1969 and 2002. Though thousands lost their lives in 2002 the situation was brought under control within 5 days whereas in 1969 Ahmedabad was under curfew for 65 days. It’s inappropriate to entirely the blame the govt. since major and minor riots had taken place in the state under both Congress and BJP. People’s thoughts and mindset has to be changed through awareness.

Please read properly.. when i said 15 years, obvisously it is after godra-gujarat got over.. There was no such voilence after that... for such a long duration, because modi dealt with iron hand agaisnt rioters .. and in that 15 years modi kept winning 3 times each time inceasing his share, withot riots.
