Mangaluru: Several places in district receive rainfall, get respite from heat

Mangaluru, Mar 23: Several parts of Dakshina Kannada district received rainfall on Wednesday March 22. The rainfall brought respite to the people from scorching temperature.

Although rainfall is being experienced at different places in the district since the last three days, the city did not get any rain. Cloudy atmosphere was experienced in the city and nearby places on Wednesday. Bantwal and Mangaluru taluks went without any rain on Wednesday.

Kombaru gram panchayat in Puttur taluk got 35 mm rain, while Bilinele got 13 mm. Kalanja in Sullia taluk registered 30 mm rainfall with Puduvettu in Beltangady taluk receiving 18 mm rain.

The meteorological department is expecting rainfall in some places of Puttur, Sullia and Beltangady taluks on Thursday too.
