Mangaluru, Feb 25: Miscreants have continued their misdeeds as part of Mangaluru bandh called by Hindu organizations opposing the visit of Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. There were incidents of stone pelting on three KSRTC and a private bus in Ullal, Konaje and Manjeshwar police station limits. Two bus drivers have been injured in the incident.

Stones were hurled on a KSRTC bus on standby duty at Talapady of Manjeshwar police station limits when the bus was on its way from Mangaluru to Talapady. Though the windshield is completely shattered, there were no injuries.

A bus on rural service is damaged in Asaigoli of Konaje police station limits while it was plying from Mudipu to Mangaluru. A group of six people smashed the windshield of a private bus that had started from Talapady to Mangaluru at Talapady. Driver Vijay has been seriously injured. Miscreants also hurled about stones on a KSRTC bus that was going to Mangaluru from Kasargod and assaulted driver Matapathi (35). The driver fled fearing trouble.

Nearly 25 women, children and men ran for half a kilometre fearing trouble from miscreants.
RTO officer is responsible:

Private bus owner Sharath said “Our bus did not operate in the morning. However RTO and deputy commissioner said that KSRTC buses will be put into service if we do not start the bus. Therefore the bus had to be inevitably taken out. The RTO and the deputy commissioner are responsible for loss worth thousands caused due to shattering of glass.”

Earlier report

Mangaluru, Feb 25 : The bandh called by right-wing organizations opposing the participation of Kerala chief minister in a CPI(M) communal harmony in the city on Saturay February 25 began on a lukewarm note, but there were several reports of stone-pelting at buses as the morning progressed.

In Talapady, around 15 people assembled and hurled stones at two buses, one KSRTC and another a private one. A KSRTC bus was also stoned at Konaje cross.

Situation has been largely peaceful except a tyre burning incident reported at Konchady. Another Karnataka state government bus was stoned at Talapady earlier in the morning.

Most of the shops opened in the morning as usual. Government as well as private buses were seen on roads.

Heavy security is in place throughout all places of city.

Is this 'minimum government, maximum governance' Prime Minister of India promised to the nation? How does PM who is blaming in Bihar and UP election campaign blaming opposition parties for 'Gunda raj' is silent on BJP and RSS violence?

Is this the future 'smart city of India which majority supporting for “naked violation of protocol”?
Mangloreans need to be blamed for all chaos for electing party since 1991 for last 25 years. What is difference between terrorists and these protesters who damage the state property and create fear among ordinary citizens?

Instead of 'smart city' it is better this city should be renamed as Nagpur of south India.

Kerala CM welcomed with Kerala style!!! now it is left to us whether we need kerala style administration or republic style. when this person is unable to maintain peace & harmony in Kerala then what is his contribution in this rally. there may be difference between the political parties about the ideology. but it should not encourage to kill them. we have enough example of political murders in Kerala. so many hindu activist murdered & slowly the same trend we saw in Karnataka also. hence his visit to mangalore & speech in the rally may affect the peace & harmony exist in DK.

Once again goons are having a field day in Mangalore while an ineffective Police looks on helplessly. Shop owners being threatened and forced to close down.....Such a shame. These jokers , if they want to protest, protest in front on the Kerala CM over these so-called religion based murders, why threaten the average Mangalorean? Shameful!!!!

what kind of communal harmony. this kind of rally's are used for blaming some organisations/political parties/religion etc.. is it possible to bring a harmony by blaming any person/organisations/religion. what they want? if they really want to bring communal harmony then first they need to contact each religion/community leaders and their followers. they should try to bring these community peoples under single roof. but here they want political mileage.
