Mangaluru: Sowjanya case - 'Influential people involved, no faith in CBI', says Thimarodi

Mangaluru, Feb 17: President of Praja Prabhutva Vedike and activist Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi on Friday, February 17 said that he and the family of Sowjanya, who was allegedly raped and murdered in October 2012, have lost faith in the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) and alleged that 'influential' people were involved in the case.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said, "It is four years since the brutal crime took place. Sowjanya's parents are still waiting for justice. Many protests have taken place. But now, the 50th Additional Sessions Court (CBI special court) has directed fresh inquiry. Despite this, we really do not have any confidence in the CBI. Earlier too, the CBI did an inquiry and found that Santhosh Rao was the only culprit, whereas eyewitnesses have seen three people namely Dheeraj Jain, Malik Jain and Uday Jain at the crime spot. Why is the CBI not looking into this? Is it acting on someone's directions?" he questioned.

"CBI inquiries have rarely resulted in punishment of a criminal in India. We have no faith in CBI. The inquiry into Sowjanya case is going on a slow place since 2012. Many of the evidences are being ignored and overlooked.

"The accused said in a press meet yesterday (February 16) that brain-mapping, blood tests and other tests were done on them, but there is no documented evidence even in the high court. The investigating team even took Sowjanya's clothes from her home. They did not question the witnesses and insist that Santhosh Rao is the only accused. What kind of an inquiry is being done by the CBI? Why this lackluster attitude by the authorities in handling this case?

"It is because influential people are involved in this. CBI inquiry should be first conducted on the investigating officers who handled the case in the first place. We want a CBI inquiry by a team from other states. Even a police constable would have done a better job in handling the case.

"It is being said that Dr Adam was pressurized before the post-mortem was conducted. The impression of bite marks on Sowjanya's chest have been ignored. The doctor purposely omitted this important point in the post-mortem report. It is a plot to save the culprits," he alleged.

"The fresh inquiry from CBI should give us justice. We have left all our hopes on god. If we fail here, we will challenge this case in the Supreme Court. We want a CBI enquiry under the supervision of the Supreme Court," he demanded.

Sowjanya's mother Kusumavathi, uncle Vittal Gowda and others were present.

Fighting for justice for others despite threats to life is a great virtue and we should salute him. Getting justice for the poor is distant dream and if the guilty accept their mistakes and undergo punishment can save their souls. If they failed to do so they have to face wrath of almighty on judjement day.

Well said Mr. Mahesh Shetty. First of all CBI inquiry should be done on those officials who were in charge of Sowjanya case. Also the person who conducted postmortem should be squeezed well to vomit the names of influential persons who are involved in the crime. The young soul of little girl is crying for justice. That is the reason the inquiry has been ordered again. Those who are supporting the accused only because they are from a particular family, put yourself in Sowjanya's parents place, in Sowjany's place and imagine the pain they are passing through. I am sure God will give justice to our child.

Thimarodi, you have lost the rights to fight this case. You had betrayed Soujanya family for political beneift. Do you remember, how you jumped into Nalin camp during Lok Sabha election by deserting Soujanyas father and mother? People have lost the trust in you. I m sure only Soujanya's father and mother are enough to fight this case, you have no business to do this. Do not try to get the milage by showing again by criticising CBI. You are a big fake and failed leader.
Dear readers, just go to the archives pages of daijiworld and see how this Thimarodi betrayed the Soujanya's parents....

Those criminals are not human. Leave them to the hands of God. Like I said in my earlier comment, He the Almighty who is the Judge above all Judges will deliver his verdict very soon.

Why are we placing our faith in the mortal world. Let us all surrender Sowjanya and her family into the hands of the Lord. He will surely give justice.

If the criminal is capable of bite marks on private places it clearly proves that they are ferocious animals in the human guise who do not respect a woman. Has Humanity completely gone out of this world is it? How can anyone stoop so low?

    Dear Rita

Bite marks indicate these were hungry animals and there are many roaming the streets.

These things happen when the wealth is unequally distributed. Richer are becoming richer and poor desperate.

The rich are powerful wish to involve in fantasies and pounce upon the poor who are helpless.

    The governments support the rich.

You are right! Mr Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi is chosen by the Lord!!

Keep up the good work Mr MST. You are chosen by Lord Jesus to do his good work. We are unworthy in front of the Lord. But yet he chooses one among us to serve him and mankind.

    Mr Mahndra Shetty,

Mr MST is God's chosen servant to do the good work of getting justice to whom justice has been denied.

But this denial of justice will not be for long. As long as there are good people like Mr MST around good work of the Lord will continue.

    Sowjanya's family will get justice.
