Panaji, Jan 19: Cornering union defence minister Manohar Parrikar at assembly election's corner meeting in Shiroda constituency of Ponda taluka put a local in trouble as he was arrested for asking questions.

Minister for industries, Mahadev Naik who represents the Shiroda constituency, had convened four corner meetings of Parrikar on Wednesday January 18 evening. The meeting which was held at Borim village, nearly two hundred meters away from the house of noted poet Bakibab Borkar, witnessed the anger from a person identified as Ramdas Naik over many issues which state government could not resolve.

Ramdas Naik rose from his seat and asked several questions to Parrikar. This disrupted the meeting and hence the Ponda police arrested him and registered an offense against him for disrupting the meeting.

Ponda police inspector Sudesh Naik told media persons that the accused person was arrested for obstructing the meeting of the defense minister.

Ramdas Naik was later admitted to the district hospital after he complained of a health issue.

Police sources informed that the incident occurred at around 9 pm on Wednesday. Minister for industries Mahadev Naik was also present during the meeting.
