Bantwal: Hit by motor bike, pedestrian loses life

Bantwal, Jan 17: In an accident which occurred on the night of Monday January 16 at Kolpe near Alakemajalu in Idkidu village near Vittal, a person who was walking by the road died on after having been hit by a motor bike.

The victim of this accident was Ramanna Gowda (70) from Urimajalu in Idkidu village. He was walking towards Alakemajalu from the home of his daughter located near Kolpe, when a motor bike moving towards Kolpe from Alakemajalu knocked him down. It is said that the killer two-wheeler was trying to overtake a pick-up truck when the accident occurred.

Ramanna, who suffered serious injuries to his chest and skull, was being taken to Puttur hospital when he breathed his last. A case relating to this accident stands filed in Vittal police station.
