Udupi, Jul 19: Devi Prasad Shetty, president of district JD (S) said that he is ready to go alone and talk to Naxal leaders on invitation. The choice of place of meeting is up the leader, he said at press conference here on Wednesday July 18.

The decision has been taken to prevent the Naxal activity and he is ready to sacrifice if the cause of the country needs it, provided the Naxal leaders and government should approve his decision, he added.

Great negligence towards the development of the rural areas has been a cause of the rampant of Naxalism, he said.

Congress which ruled the country for a long period is also responsible as it neglected the development of many places, he complained.

The state government is doing a great job and giving importance to the development of all the neglected areas especially Naxal-affected areas, he said.

Innocent people are killed at Menasinahadya in the encounter, he said and added that attention should be paid towards the basic needs to provide the social justice.

Social justice can solve the problems related to Naxalism and on this regard chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has drawn his attention, he added.

Naxals claim that they are responsible for the development and police are after the common people torturing them to collect information about Naxals. This has compelled the common people to prefer Naxals, he expressed his anxiety.

Jagadish Yadiyara, president of the party and Vasudeva Rao were present at the press meet.

I fully agree with Mr.Deviprasad Shetty, because there are some villages where nobody from a political party visits after elections are over. Nobody cares about the bsic needs of the villagers. There are villages where lot of development funds have been missmanaged and the poor benifiaries have been cheated by the political village minds, but the poor villagers does not understand.

Still they are with congress who uses them only for vote bank and fogets for five years. This tends to unhappiness among the young generation who joins hand with naxals and involving in activities without any agenda in rural areas. Govt. should carefully take appropriate steps to understand these problem in villages and should eliminate naxal problem, otherwise this will go beyond control.
