JKP Education gets another award

Lucknow, Aug 21 (IANS): The charitable trust Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education has bagged the I Next Achievers award of the Jagran Group for imparting free education to more than 5,000 girls from pre-primary to post-graduate levels at institutions at Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

"A woman plays various roles in life. If she is educated she can contribute both to the family and the society in a much more meaningful way. Education is the best tool to empower women in the true sense," said Vishakha Tripathi, president of the trust.

Another trust functionary Ram Puri, who accepted the award on his organisation's behalf, said efforts were being regularly made to reach out to more needy families and provide the girls with best technology and amenities, by removing hurdles in their pursuit for higher education.

The trust has, in the past, won the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award, Mother Teresa Award and Nelson Mandela Award, among others.
