Mangalore, May 26: 'Inland Windors', the dream project of city's dynamic entrepreneur Siraj Ahmed, who has been heading In-Land Group for the last 28 years, was officially declared open on Monday May 26.
The 26-floor skyscraper, the city's first, considered to be the tallest building in the region with 226 residential flats, was inaugurated by Karnataka state minister for infrastructure, information, and Haj, Roshan Baig in a glittering ceremony held on Monday at Padavinangady, Airport Road.
District-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai was the chief guest while P Jayaram Bhat, Karnataka Bank MD and CEO, presided over the function.
Health minister U T Khadar, mayor Mahabala Maarla, Mohiuddin Bava, former minister Krishna Palemar, Yenepoya University chancellor Y Abdulla Kunhi, SCDCC Bank president Rajendra Kumar, and CREDAI president Pushparaj Jain were the guests of honour.
In his inaugural address, Roshan Baig said, “It is a joyous occasion for all of us gathered here, for two reasons - one, that a newly elected Prime Minister is taking oath in Delhi and the other reason is that a magnificent building is being inaugurated in Mangalore.” He congratulated Ahmed and his whole team on this beautiful project.
In his presidential address, Jayaram Bhat said, “Siraj is a proud customer of Karnataka Bank and we are proud to be associated with In-Land. Siraj is a person one who achieves the impossible and still continues to achieve more.”
Addressing the gathering, Ramanath Rai said, “This is a prestigious project for the city. It is not just a building or an apartment complex, but a village as nearly 300 families will live under one roof. This project is a crowning glory to this area as well.”
Rendering his best wishes, Khadar said, “A true dreamer is not the one who just keeps dreaming, but the one who dreams and strives hard to fulfill his dreams. Siraj is a true dreamer as he has achieved a lot through his hard work.” He further urged Roshan Baig to bring monorail and metro to Mangalore as it is one of the fastest developing cities in the state.
Three people closely associated with Siraj Ahmed were felicitated on the occasion. They were Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd, Praveen Attavar, and Umesh Salian.
Six people who have strived hard for this project were also felicitated - Sagar Mistry, MFar Constructions, Suresh Pai, Anil Hegde, Sunil, and Vinyas Shetty.
Siraj Ahmed, chairman and MD, In-Land Group, welcomed the gathering. Meraj Yusuf, director, In-Land Group, proposed the vote of thanks. Wahaj Yusuf, director, was also present on the occasion.
Before the inauguration of ‘Inland Windsors’, the premises was blessed by Hindu, Christian, and Muslim religious heads.
