Thank you: Young Rakshitha to regain eyesight soon

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Feb 11: Sometime ago, daijiworld had put up an appeal requesting financial assistance for young Rakshitha who lost her eyesight a few years back. As usual, our generous readers rose to the occasion and donated wholeheartedly to the cause, pooling in Rs 5.17 lac for her surgery.

Rakshitha, a student of class 9 at St Agnes High School, is a resident of Bondanthila Padu Post, Neermarga, and lives with her parents Sundar Poojary and Janaki. Eight years ago, she developed eye pain and the medicine prescribed by a local doctor further complicated her condition and she lost her sight. She needed Rs 5 lac for surgery that would help her restore her vision to some extent.

Rakshitha along with her father Sundar Poojary and sister Likitha visited daijiworld office and expressed their gratitude to all the readers who supported her in her time of need. She has been undergoing necessary treatment and as the procedure is lengthy, the doctor has promised to carry out the surgery at the earliest.

Rendering her gratitude to everyone who helped her and prayed for her recovery, she said, “I had lost my eyesight nearly nine years back and was in need of financial aid for the surgery. The headmistress of my school brought me to daijiworld.

"I thank everyone for  helping me so generously in my treatment. The procedures for my treatment are under way. The lens on my eye has been replaced and I feeling much better. My vision has been improving and I am doing better in my studies as well. Four types of eyedrops have been prescribed by the doctor, and the surgery will be performed at the earliest," she said.

An emotional Sundar Poojary profusely thanked the generous readers and said, "Due to some adverse reaction from medicines, my daughter lost her eyesight, and in order to help her regain her vision, we needed to spend a lot but could not afford the treatment. I would like to thank each and every person who has helped my daughter get back her eyesight."

He further informed that Rakshitha had an appointment with a doctor in Chennai on January 20. "The doctor has changed the lens and has promised to perform the surgery soon. There is another appointment in March. We have visited Chennai five times already and the treatment has gone on well.Rakshitha is feeling comfortable and far better than before, all thanks to the generous readers of daijiworld," he said.

We at daijiworld thank all our esteemed readers and supporters for their wholehearted response to the cause. Let us together make the world a better place for all.
