Dubai: Sandalwood star Ramesh Arvind does cameo role for 'Nirel' Tulu movie

Dubai, May 1: Well-known Sandalwood cine star Ramesh Arvind whose recent Kannada film 'Chatrigalu Saar Chatrigalu' released in Bangalore arrived at Dubai International Airport with his son Arjun to shoot for the first international Tulu movie 'Nirel'.
Star Ramesh Arvind, who is a close friend of Shodhan Prasad, the producer of 'Nirel' was happy to be part of the team and was excited to see the enthusiastic crew and cast working on the film during their weekend holidays.
He said that this was a new concept for him to know how youth make use of their weekend holidays more effectively. Ramesh Arvind, a mechanical engineer-turned-actor, has more than 120 films to his credit. He has acted in movies of various languages including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
"With 'Nirel' one more language has been added to my list of non-Kannada movies. I am also happy to say that this is my first film to be shot in Dubai," he said.
He met Ranjit Bajpe, director of 'Nirel', San Poojary, executive producer, Rajnish Amin, art director and Sachin Padil, production executive and was impressed with this young dynamic team. He completed two days of shooting in Dubai and returned to Bangalore. Before leaving he expressed his wish to work with the same team in producing a Kannada movie soon after the release of 'Nirel'.
A simple man, Ramesh Arvind began his acting career with the Kannada movie 'Mouna Geethe' in 1986 opposite Srinath and Saritha, in a support role.
He later climbed up the ladder with many hit movies in various languages to his credit. He then turned to direction with 'Nammanna Don', 'Venkata in Sankata', 'Accident', 'Sathyavan Savithri' and 'Rama Shama Bhama'.
He won the best actor award for his Kannada movies 'America America' and 'Hoomale' by Karnataka State Film Award. He also bagged 'Filmfare Best Kannada Actor Award' for his movie 'Amrutha Varshini' which ran across 175 days in the theatres and also for 'Hoomale', in the years 1997 and 1998.
Most of his movies are recorded as the best movies screened for a long period at theatres, loved by his fans across three states. Four more films are awaiting release this year and he is also planning a mega film in Tamil which is yet to be announced.
In Dubai he was surprised to see innumerable fans following him wherever he went, requesting for photos. His fans were happy to know that he is part of film 'Nirel' shooting in Dubai and said they were eagerly waiting for its release.
Another celebrity who has an important role in the movie is the talented Ria D'Souza, a Mangalorean beauty in Dubai who has a few upcoming movies in Malayalam, Telugu and even Hindi in her kitty.
A Zee TV anchor and a model by profession, she is very happy and proud to be associated with this Tulu venture, being from Tulunadu herself. She had her part shot along with Ramesh and Anoop in the recent shoot which has turned out excellent.
An energetic host of Zee Connect which runs on TV every Saturday nights, one might have spotted her with Malayalam star Mohanlal in Casanova, a Malayalam romantic movie. A while ago she was also heard in City 101.6 FM as an RJ.
A simple girl born and brought up in Dubai with roots in Mangalore, Ria always dreamt of acting in movies and has a flair for dancing too. Crowned ‘Ms Mangalore Dubai’ in 2009, Ria D'Souza with her passion for modelling, continues her profession in multi-faceted interests, keeping herself busy with interviewing celebrities, keeping herself fit with daily Yoga and trying her hand in the Indian film industry. She now has to her credit Tulu movie 'Nirel', once again a first for her.
Other than hero Anoop and heroines Varuna Shetty and Deepthi Salian, various other artistes including Deepak Palladka, Anand Salian, Subash Bangera, Rajendra Pai, Jameel Ahmed, Vidya, Sandhya, Nindiya and many more are part of this exciting venture.
