Udupi, Feb 18: Khatijamma, also known as ‘Ajjamma’, practioner of traditional medicine passed away due to ill-health, at her residence on Monday February 18.

From past 75 years she gave treatment to couples who did not have children. It is said that she got this knowledge from her grandmother. Her treatment has helped many couples conceive. She has even given treatment in foreign countries.

Khatijamma never expected any reward for her service. She gave treatment to patients in Gulf, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kerala.

She is survived by two sons, two daughters. Final rites will be held in Mooluru Juma Masjid.

Khatijamma’s family members have requested all Mosques to pray for the repose of her soul.
