Mangalore, Jan 3: Fr Maxim and Fr Jerald Melwyn Dias of Borimar Church were recently ordained by bishop of Mangalore. Their first thanksgiving mass was held in Borimar on December 30.
Fr Stany preached sermon stressing on family and priests’ role in the family.
After the mass, parish priest Fr Gerald Francis Pinto felicitated the parents of new priests by giving bouquet of flowers. Fr Francis Serrao, provincial of Karnataka province was also thanked by giving flower bouquet. The new priests were also felicitated by the parish priest.
Grace Saldanha gave a brief history of the new priests.
Later mass felicitation programme was held in the Church premises.
Fr Prashanth Madtha raised the toast. Parish priest Fr Gerald garlanded the new priests on behalf of the Church while the Church choir sang the felicitation song.
