Mangalore, Nov 20:  During the public meet of the district unit of Welfare Party of India held at Townhall here on Monday November 19, the party’s national vice president and litterateur B T Lalitha Nayak said, “Though many claim to be enjoying the savor of freedom in this country after the end of British rule in 1947, the last person in the social hierarchy has failed to spot the relish of freedom and only police obtained it.” She was the chief guest on the occasion and was addressing the gathering of party workers and public.

She said that if the sanctity of the votes were retained in the democratic system, the Welfare Party of India would not have come into to existence. “But, the party was commissioned with the sole of objective of safeguarding the nation which is marred by corruption of political parties”, she declared.

She added that every government should have eyes to watch the problems of the people and ears to listen their woes, but the BJP led state government with the motto of enjoying power, dissociated from people and gulped down land and other natural resources. Taking the congress into task, she said that the party in the centre is placing a carpet to foreign companies, but has never helped common man.

Hence, she said that the WPI (Welfare Party of India) has planned to provide tickets for downtrodden people in order to take the pledge of rooting out corruption. She added, “On an experimental basis, a candidate named Raisuddin Saab was given ticket from the WPI to contest from Jangipur Loksabha Constituency (vacated after Pranab Mukharjee went on to become the president of India) in West Bengal, and he could bag 42,000 odd votes”, she said.

She added that the party aims at strengthening the administration at the panchayat level and called upon the people to elect eligible people who are scholars.
She also called upon the people to come out of the mindset of slavery and said that the government should provide free education and medical assistance to every citizen and vote for the party to realize the purpose.
