Kundapur: CPIM Protests against Diesel Price Hike, Cap on LPG

Kundapur, Sep 20: CPIM protested against the diesel price hike, ceiling on subsidised LPG on Thursday September 20.

CPIM stated that the hike in the price of diesel will have a cascading inflationary impact imposing greater burdens on the already suffering people. Agricultural sector, farmers will be directly hit.

“Hiking the price of diesel and limiting the cooking gas is done with an intention of making profit by the oil companies. Price hike will lead to rise in the ticket fares. With the current inflation it is difficult for a common man to live. Government should take proper decisions to reduce inflation", said K Venkatesh, CPIM leader.

People of Kundapur faced difficulty to travel as the private and KSRTC buses remained off the roads. All shops, schools and colleges remained shut. Small children enjoyed their holiday by playing cricket in the city’s new bus stand.

‘Anna Poorneshwari Kala Thanda’, a group of seven blind people who travelled from Sirsi to Kumbhashi for a programme, unaware of the strike had to stay back in Kundapur KSRTC bus stand. They sang songs and entertained the public.

CPIM leaders Mahabala, H Narasimha and Venkatesh Koni were present during the protest.

Every increase of Re.1/- per litre of diesel or petrol will fetch Karnataka Government Re.0.28 because there is sales tax of 28%. Indirectly BJP Government is happy whenever there is price rise on petrol or diesel! It is crocodile tears that BJP supporters are shredding!!!!!!

All the people protesting here is for the subsidy (discount in other words)

Do you know that everytime you fill a litre of Diesel Rs.40 is paid by the Govt., Do you know that every time you buy LPG Rs. 450 is borne by the Govt.

Now Govt. pays out of tax payers money and everybody is not a tax payer. Now if given a chance these wise people will expect subsidy on everything from clothes , food , fuel etc.etc.

Why should the oil companies buy fuel at higher price and sell at a lower price to the people. If you were a businessman Would you agree on buying stuff at higher price and sell it at a lower price.

These subsidies were introduced by govt. to control inflation for a short time but remained there indefinitely.

Telecommunication revolution has replaced the landlines with mobile, wireless, internet (Electronic media and Information technology)
Population has exceeded 1.2 billion and mobiles are trying out number the population.
Can we have the same number of vehicles on roads as mobiles in hands?
Whereas our rich water resources can’t provide pure drinking water to our entire population, is it possible to provide imported fuel to satisfy the thirst of our multiplying vehicles at cheaper rates?
Why we need to default our vehicles to level roads only, by pulling the weight on wheels by force throughout the way (of travel or journey) like infants?
Why can’t we think of a revolutionary change in our land transportation, by using the enormous weight of our huge population and mass products, as energy to push our vehicles instead carrying them throughout?

Why the government should give on subsidy???!!!
It is similar electricity free for farmers for pumps running relentlessly and the water is flowing in their field unwontedly.

The business community, the taxis, autos & hoteliers have misutilized subsidized gas by filling the pockets of gas agents.

BJP & CPI/CPIM ARE ANTI-DEVELOPMENT AND ANTI REFORMISTS.

Whatever... At last the UPA now knows that it is not a dictatorship... Thanks to the allies for withdrawing their support from this common man's and common woman's govt... This good for nothing UPA thought that India is a super rich country, just for the reason that all the congress ministers have turned out to be billionaires overnight... What else would you expect this govt to do... And surviving with this UPA till 2014 .... Impossible... Petrol rs120. Deisel Rs 100, kerosene still subsidized, LPG- Market rate of Rs 1200 without subsidy.. Buy it if you wanna eat... Biggest joke of our independence is the UPA being elected for the second term. on a serious note for the last time- just get rid of this govt.. God bless India...

A handful number of people only. Most of them refused to attend protest.

Most of the people have plenty of money to buy gold and when it comes to LPG gas they wanted on subsidized rates. The ceiling of LPG Cylinders is a must to prevent agents making money by selling to transporters and hoteliers.

BJP, CIPI AND CPIM ARE ANTI REFORM AND ANTI DEVELOPMENTS.

MR. MODI’S MINISTER IS IN A SCANDALE OF RS.400CORE SCAM.
NAME IS MODI’S MINISTER INDIRECTLY TO MODI’ POCKET.
SIMILAR TO MR. YEDDYURAPPA’S TEMPLES KOTI KOTI PARINAAMAGALU.
    INDIRECTLY COMING TO YEDDYURAPPA’S POCKET.
